The area around Bajondillo Beach (300-400m) is not suitable for families with children. These are beaches exclusively for the gay community. You are not even allowed to go to one beach with children. The gay community is very strong here, and associated with this is also public behavior right on the beach in the form of homosexual games, kissing and similar. I must say that even heterosexual couples do not behave so eccentrically in public! The capital city of gay people didn't prove that in any way. In exchange of that it was the capital city of English people abroad. You can see pubs and fish&chips anywhere, also Irish ones. Not much of a Spanish taste left. City is nice all around. The famous Carihuela Beach is started from half of that long strip to the north. Is not the best as i've seen more beautiful beaches in Costa Blanca. At the beginning of this long beach, close to Benalmadena Port, the beach is awful as is full of rocks. The beach is dirty and the water is cold as hell. Benalmadena Port is nice and expensive. We had an apartment close to the beach with a beutiful swimming pool and a large private parking and this combination is very rare in Torremolinos. Our best point in this trip was Malaga, definitely one of the most beautiful city in the world. If i move to Spain Malaga would be in my short list of two cities. Torremolinos is a perfect location for a summer holiday. You can walk along the prom wit excellent restaurants and bars entertainment all along.
