We were tired, and Fernando was gracious. He showed us to our room, showed us the bathroom (with washing machine) and gave us our privacy. In the morning he made us coffee, served biscuits, and we had a lovely conversation. The house is amazing! Parts are in use, parts are still being renovated.

The best part about this stay was the enthusiasm and energy of the hospitable proprietor-host! As pilgrims we arrive exhausted at each place we stay, so his special meaningful way of stamping and drawing/writing on our pilgrim passport felt such a delight and a reward! :) He was efficient, organised and humorous. One-man show reception, meals prep and serving and housekeeping! And the hostel was squeaky clean and food was delicious and adequate. It was a delight for us to watch him run the whole operation! (we're both of hospitality and service background) The dinner experience felt almost like a hosted experience as we dined with fellow pilgrims. The host is probably the most knowledgable and proud advocate of the Camino and its cultural history we've met so far. This was a special stay for us that we will remember for a long time.

This is my second camino and i'm always sleeping in private rooms as i want to avoid people snoring or going to the bathroom every 5 minutes. As you can guess that means i slept in quite a few hotels and hostels. This one, La Huella Del Camino, is one of the very very best on the whole camino! The food in the restaurant is also more than excellent, do yourself a favor and try it. The host is very friendly, a big bath tub to relax in after a day of hiking, hygiene is excellent, great bed... what else can you wish for?

    Arrived on a Saturday afternoon so very quiet and only one local bar open , the hotel had a cafe. Very quiet village , shame about the huge freight lorries obviously using the road through the village as a cut through.

    We loved this hotel the receptionist was first class and friendly-all the staff had great empathy and couldn’t have been better, the hotel itself was quirky and had so many quiet places you could relaxin in peace and quiet. Please don’t pass this property. Superb
