Great place to stay if you want something quiet and out of a city and are travelling by car. Good restaurant on site and plenty of parking. The town is stunning and worth a walk around. Good restaurants in town as well.

Herbert was a wonderful host. I arrived with my daughter late at night, partly because the main road was cut and I struggled a bit to find my way to the small village of Vernot. He waited for us and offered us complimentary food when we arrived as we had not had a chance to have dinner on the way. The room itself, actually almost a full apartment, was fantastic, with a very good size room and bathroom plus separate toilet and very nicely, traditionally decorated. The double bed was very comfortable. The morning sun waked us up, and we had the best possible breakfast, with some excellent local produce and hot food cooked by Herbert himself. We had an opportunity to chat with him during breakfast and know a bit more about each other. Then he showed us around his fantastic country house / farm and the different spaces he has been creating within it. The house was a former water mill and you can still see elements of its former use. He had a little surprise for my daughter when he showed her his pet piglets. It was a fantastic experience overall and I can't wait to return one day to that place. I wish I had written this review earlier but better late than never! Thank you Herbert for making us feel like at home!

Exquisite attention to detail, old transformed beautifully into carefully designed new. Huge bedroom, quality bed linen, towels and accessories. Delicious breakfast served with quality china and table linen…. just a pleasure to stay in such a well loved guest house, we were made very welcome.

Karine gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. The place is very nice and cosy with a lot of character, including local tiles, wooden beams, nicely decorated etc. It also feels new and very clean. Most recommended to anyone who is visiting the area or just passing by. Thank you again : )

This was the nicest and best value stopover driving down through France that we have ever experienced and I don't hesitate to recommend staying here. Jean-Paul was a most congenial, warm and delightful host. The beds are comfortable, the apartment is nicely furnished (beautiful bathroom), in a lovely old building in a beautiful village. I can't believe we paid such a low price for a family of four for this lovely place. In the summer there is a swimming pool available too! Although not advertised on booking.com, Jean-Paul also provided a fantastic french continental breakfast for us - fresh baguettes, pain au chocolat, yoghurts, tea, coffee, juice, hot chocolate - for just 5 euros each! We also really liked the restaurant in the village that was just across the road. The village is really conveniently located near Dijon and not far from the main motorway. There is plenty of room for parking in the gated courtyard too. We will definitely be coming back, especially whenever we need another stopover driving through France. Merci beaucoup Jean-Paul, vous êtes très sympa! Nous avons bien aimé notre séjour chez vous. Très bon prix et très bon petit-déjeuner aussi.
