Perfect location for me - en route between Calais and the Volcans. Good evening meal and really friendly helpful staff. Room was immaculate with stunning brand new bathroom and lovely view out across the town square.

Jean Pierre was outstanding in his efforts to help us with logistical problems in our arrangements. He was willing to make calls for us and insure we were looked after. We were so appreciative. Dinner was fabulous and the room perfect.

The location - very peaceful, and right on the bike route we were cycling 😊. We were able to check in earlier than the booking said, hosts were great - flexible and welcoming.

We were travelling to my son's wedding in the Loire Valley and needed somewhere to stay overnight off the N10. We just wanted somewhere to sleep and have breakfast for my husband, myself and my elderly father. The Étape de St Hilaire more than fulfilled our needs and expectations. Once we had caught the attention of our host (and possibly because I was able to converse in French with him) we had the friendliest of receptions. We were expecting just a couple of rooms but it was the whole of an apartment over the host's farmhouse. The location was off the main road so fairly quiet (just distant traffic noise) and the breakfast was superlative! The host's wife brought up a large basket of bread, croissants, homemade jams, homegrown damsons and eggs laid by their hens! It was just perfect.

    Restaurant was good at midday. Unfortunately they did not have staff to open in the evening but recommended a nice place just up the street. We complained about a smoker in the bar but the staff did nothing about it.

    The hotel is located in the centre of this lovely riverside town. The rooms appear to have been recently refurbished and provided very good accommodation for the money. The restaurant/bar terrace was a great place for dinner even though the menu was somewhat limited. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Free on street parking was easy to find.

    Nice hotel-bar, smack in the middle of lovely Cloyes. Perfect one-person room with spacious bathroom. I could park my bike safely (and dry) at the back. Breakfast was simple but sufficient in the bar or on the terrace.
