It is wonderful little hotel in a beautiful village. It is cute museum-like with a combination of antique furniture and modern conveniences. I especially liked the deer with glasses on the wall, holding a wire with a lamp hanging from it in its teeth. It is convenient that there are two washbasins in the toilet, a coffee machine in the room and spoons with cups and tea bags. The hosts were very hospitable, pleasant and friendly. In general, I love huts with stairs. I wish everyone a good time here, this is a place for a peaceful and dreamy vacation in a cozy countryside.

Aubigny-sur-Nere is a very attractive and historic town and La Chaumiere is in the middle of it. We loved the building which is old and beautiful and has been wonderfully restored with every comfort. We booked an evening meal for convenience which turned out to be exceptionally good - really fine dining - but for a fraction of the price you pay in the UK for this quality of food and wine. The service was also great - both friendly and efficient.

We stayed for 1 night. Arrived at 9pm and left after breakfast When we arrived, we thought it had closed down as all the shutters were down and we couldn't see any lights on. The owner who greeted us was very pleasant and checked us in The room as the rest of the hotel is very dated. It looks a lot nicer on the web site. It was clean and the bed was comfortable enough. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin and there was another guest talking on the phone at 3.30am for a very long time that disturbed our sleep. I couldn't wait to check out. The breakfast was fine breads, jams, yoghurt and coffee for 7.40 euros each served by a very pleasant lady
