This was our first visit to Le Grand Pré and we were really impressed. We had a warm welcome from the owner Sandra who showed us around the gîte and explained in perfect English how everything worked. The gîte is very well equipped for our stay, spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated with very comfy beds. It was very hot during our two week stay but the gîte remained cool and the provision of fans helped too. The terrace area was equipped with garden furniture, ideal for enjoying the sun. We were allowed access to the large garden which again has furniture available. The gîte is in a very peaceful location but a short ten minute drive from the local village and 15 minutes from the nearest supermarkets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Sandra is the perfect host, we appreciated her friendly advice of where to visit and also to eat and drink as this was our first visit to the region. We cannot recommend le grand pré more highly, we will definitely return in the future, thank you Sandra.

Royal. Felt wonderful. It was a birthday gift for my girlfriend. Really elegant and well thought place with a wonderful view of the Loire River. Close to Saumur Castle. The personnel was really attentive and the property exceeded our expectations. Had a wonderful dinner there and had the chance of having a wonderful private breakfast because no one else was at the hotel.

Comfortable, clean, well run and welcoming. Very well located 10 minutes from Saumur. Great swimming pool, secure parking, our room was adequately equipped for a comfortable 3 night stay. It was quiet and although I can’t comment on the restaurant, there was a popular one 300m away on she banks of The Loire which had a bar as well. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
