Location perfect as we needed an overnight stay on our way to the Alps. Easy to access from the main road. Served very good food so we were able to eat dinner without looking for anything else.

Beautifully renovated house in lovely village. Outside courtyard garden is great for sitting out to eat etc. Added extras outside included 3 bikes to take in lovely surrounding countryside. Inside is beautiful and feels warm, comfortable and homely. Very well equipped. The very nice owner (Ludovic) popped in shortly after we arrived to check we were happy. Highly recommended, a great place to stay.

A lovely house full of character, with partial use of top floor. It is in the middle of the countryside yet only 10-15mins drive from Laon. The drive through the small towns was lovely, having the opportunity to see the quaint architecture. Hosts were warm and friendly. We just stayed the one night. The double bed was sooo comfortable. They were happy to give recommendations for local restaurants. The breakfast was divine and plentiful. This is a lovely place I would come back.

We were two tired and hungry pilgrims on the Via Francigena who arrived without food due to another French public holiday in May and a lack of shops in the area. We also had difficulty finding accommodation and Bouconville-Vauclair is not on the designated route. The hostess, Magali, was simply outstanding. She offered to prepare us an evening meal – which was magnificent, and this was followed with a superb breakfast the next morning. The accommodation can more correctly described as a newly constructed self-contained unit with all amenities you require. Magali turned our brief stay into one of the highlights of our entire walk.
