The accommodations, service, and setting of Residences les Chenes on the outskirts of the medieval village of Parisot in an oak woodland made for an unforgettable experience. The continental breakfast was hearty and nutritious: diverse breads, baguettes, croissants, and madeleines fresh from the oven. Fresh fruits, some from the Residences les Chenes orchard. Preserves and spreads from local fruits. Orange juice and apple juice (from Residence les Chenes apples). Freshly brewed coffee with many preparation options. The staff attended to all needs and concerns and demonstrated keen insight into local history, culture, and opportunities for memorable experiences in a part of France with abundant natural beauty and deep traditions, particularly with respect to food, wine, arts and crafts, and architecture.

Located in a small village Mas Parenthese was a lovely barn conversion which provided us with a very comfortable stay. The owners were helpful and friendly and kindly put the heating on for us. The barn was tastefully decorated and furnished and included a mezzanine for sleeping although the stairs leading to it were rather steep. Breakfast was a lovely mix of homemade delicacies brought to us by the owners. The French toast was particularly enjoyable. Off the beaten track this is definitely a place you should stay.
