This was the best accommodation of our entire trip. we stayed in the Collette room and had a beautiful view of the pool & courtyard. The room was so comfortable, beautifully decorated and the facilities were exceptional. The service was next level. Every single staff member we met was so very helpful & kind. And the breakfast….stunning! Organically sourced, freshly squeezed. Don’t look any further than this hotel when visiting Sarlat! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay unforgetable 💕

Lovely hotel and really nice room, the host 'Christine was exceptional , welcoming and helped us to find the best places to visit . We liked that our room had an outdoor space where we could watch the sunset. The swimming pool was perfect after a day sightseeing. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend

We booked this stay at the last minute as we were supposed to stay somewhere else. The man at the desk was so so nice when we arrived. He was so sorry that there were no double rooms available but we didn't mind staying in a twin, we were just happy to have a room for the night. He served drinks until 10pm and there was a gorgeous deck out the front with fairy lights. Very beautiful.

    2 nights is plenty. Architecture is not to be missed. Crowds on market day are crazy unless you go to first thing in morning. The €5 panoramic glass lift is worth it. If you’re vegetarian or like plenty of salad/ vegetables you will struggle with all the restaurant menus foie gras and duck feature heavily.

    Sarlat-la-Canéda is a beautiful medieval town in a stunning region, full of charm and great bakeries. The area is packed with things to do—like visiting Domme, Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, and the scenic gardens of Marqueyssac. There are plenty of restaurants, though it’s not ideal for vegans or vegetarians—this is Périgord, home of foie gras and magret de canard.

    My good note – dinner in restaurant one night was very good. My search included air conditioning, parking, and an elevator…somehow missed here….It was 96 degrees and second floor walkup and only one weak oscillating floor fan….no water bottles and no frig….manual key for door took several tries. Their parking is a challenge (only useless times, one code, then another, then walk). We used the free parking -10-minute walk. We decided to have a cold drink (soda/Perrier) before having to retire to a very hot room. People still in the restaurant finishing dinner (9:30) and told can’t provide, not even to just bring to room! Upon check out, they did adjust with one free breakfast.

    Lovely medieval town with so much choice for dining. Close to a lot of activities in the surrounding area for adults and children. Canoe sailing on the Dordoyne viewing the various Chateau along the way. Boat trips, picnic areas and play areas for children. Numerous choice in where to stay for a few days or longer. Steeped in history and variety of interesting days out from authentic French markets to pretty gardens. Food always excellent with so much choice and of course fabulous weather!

    Walking the artsy streets of Sarlat when there are few tourists is good. The restaurant across the street from the hotel was good. The hotel itself was nice with a funky bathroom that makes you feel you are in a rocket. The staff was very nice.

    An absolutely beautiful town which, predictably, gets very full and very busy in summer, even before the school holidays. Parking is not the easiest but it’s definitely worth the effort and isn’t too much of a typical tourist trap.

    We had travelled from the south that day and just needed somewhere quiet to relax. I booked the hotel as it had a nice garden. Unfortunately we arrived in cold and rain so couldn’t take advantage of the facilities. It’s well situated though and easy to get to from Sarlat. The public rooms are comfy the dining room looks good.

    It's a little tricky to find, but SO worth it. Sarlat La Caneda is one of the most beautiful places we've seen in France, and La Villas des Consuls, just made our visit even better. Extremely helpful staff, excellent facilities, and superb breakfast. La Villas des Consuls is an absolute MUST for all travellers.
