Perfect pit stop on a long ride. Very rich breakfast, big and comfortable rooms, easy parking, 24h reception, everything was taken care of in a professional fashion. This hotel exceeded our expectation and is a definite recommendation for passing by travelers. We forgot some items in the rooms and they even called and organized everything about the return for us. Very good central location, near the station and they also have a garage to put your car. My main positive comment is about the staff. The lady on the desk was very welcoming and helpful, that makes all the difference when you in a foreign city for the first time and tired after a long journey. The street is very quiet at night too,

Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was excellent. We stayed in a ground floor family room with direct access to the outside. It had an upscale American Motel vibe. Parked the car right outisde for easy access. We were just passing through and needed a somewhere to sleep and get breakfast and then get back on the road, and for that it was perfect for our family of four.

    To be honest, Valence is an ugly city.

    To be honest, Valence is an ugly city. The Rhone flows through it but alas large motorways beside it. The centre is a bit run down. If you are on your way and are near it, you can visit the centre and have something to eat. There is a nice park near the river.

    This was a forced stop but I didn't see anything that was worth visiting. It is just a small working town and the hotel we stayed in was a dump. Even taxi driver couldn't believe we would stay there. Also, you cannot hardly get an Uber...only 3 Uber drivers for whole city/town.

    Nothing to see.

    Nothing to see. It is a cozy small town without any interesting place. The center has some bars which are open after 19:00 but are expensive and low quality. The unique place you may like is a big park clise to river.

    We loved the proximity of the hotel to the old part of town.

    We loved the proximity of the hotel to the old part of town. There was convenient parking which led 1) to Penny Kenny's Irish pub (v. friendly) which was across from a magnificent city park, complete with a grand gazebo; then 2) loads of beautiful shops; then 3) many sweet little narrow streets with cafés, atmosphere of genuine conviviality and terrace drinking. What a friendly town. All so close to the Novotel Valence Sud, where we stayed.

    Valence is a lovely place to come and stay for a few days or a few weeks. The town has lots of great restaurants and the cafe scene is quite good. I did find the number of SDF people so homeless quite alarming. They were harmless but there were a lot. As soon as it gets dark, they don't seem to hang around. Valence is a great staging point for the Vercors mountains and as a stay over into the Ardeche. We come to Valence regularly and really like it. There are some great little artisan places particularly along the Rue Des Alpes just going out of town. Try the Vallon bakery and the Epicurieux coffee and beer place...just amazing.

    Didn't get enough time to get around. Was a short business trip. Taxis good service but a little expensive although very clean better than uk. Marina has a great restaurant and great staff Cyndie very polite and very helpful first class.🙂
