Evergreen has much to offer to its guests. The hosts pay close attention to the detail, which has made our weekend trip great. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Though the biggest highlight of our stay was the breakfast prepared by the hosts. Absolutely exquisite! If you are looking for a weekend getaway or come to see Monet’s house, make sure you stay that extra night (or two 🙂) to fully soak in the serenity of Evergreen.

Location superb. Just a few minutes from the train station. The apartment is in an old building with a pebbled courtyard . Very clean and modern inside. Decor was soothing. The books with paintings of Monet a bonus. Kitchen has everything one needs for cooking. We preferred the restaurants though, all within walking distance. The host responds immediately to any queries and is helpful. Even gave us an hour more to check out. Ideal place to stay in Vernon.

    A lovely town, however it was the last town before heading to Paris. Lots more to see and enjoy in this town. Musee was terrific value for money. Some great 2nd hand stores and Pamakula Restuarant was superb.

    I arrived there around 10pm from long train journeys from Berlin. I’d bought a quiche Lorraine at the French crossing ( change of trains and when I arrived the hotel heated it up for me and put it on a plate with utensils so I could eat it in my room. It was really good of them to do so.

    Small town with a lot of character.

    Small town with a lot of character. Great market on Saturdays. Nice shops and restaurants, but it takes a while to figure out when they will be open. You are really close to Giverny and Monets house, you can walk (1hr) or rent a cycle, or take a bus or mini train from the station. Some nice walks along by the river as well.

    Great Saturday market, lots of good bakeries and shops. Very convenient for visiting Monet’s House and Gardens at Giverny with great bike path to get there. Train station facilitates longer excursions by bike, e.g. we took the train to Gaillon, then cycled to Chateau Gaillard at Les Andelys and back to Vernon.

    If you like smaller quieter towns without the rush of the...

    If you like smaller quieter towns without the rush of the cities but still the sights and facilities then Vernon is a place to consider. As a place to stay to visit Giverny, then Vernon is it. There is one however, if you are going to Giverny and Monet's garden make sure you book well in advance and make sure you check that it is not a holiday weekend of the secular or religious variety, the French seem to have a few of these and on those days Giverny is definitely a place to avoid and you wont get in if you try as the tickets will be all gone

    Vernon is a lovely town with great bars and cafes and individual shops. The town was very clean and people were lovely and very helpful, especially has my command of the French language is very limited.

    The most delightful and obliging host we have ever had in all our years of travelling. He went out of his way to ensure our stay was memorable. The front deck over looks the Seine so it is a lovely place to sit and observe the traffic on the river. The apartment is an easy walk to the timbered houses, the museum and many excellent cafes and restaurants in the heart of Vernon.

    Excellent location for the town centre of Vernon and the art Gallery Blanche Hoschedé-Monet Museum, Which is very much worth a visit as is the Mill on the Seine on the other bank from the apartment. The apartment was well equipped and very spacious.it was above a lively bar and restaurant.
