Having been to this hotel several times up to 2008 when we left the uk I was concerned that it may not be as good as I remembered. I can happily say that the staff, service, general ambience and food were all as good as ever.

The location is right in the centre of Aberdeen and everything around Aberdeen is within walking distance (including the harbor and the beach). Parking was easy and free of charge in a close by parking lot of a decommissioned office building. The inn is on top of a pub that is very lively and very cozy. The locals visit regularly and the restaurant is always full in the evenings. The meals are very tasty and reasonably priced, with plenty of choice. Same for the drinks. Both the inn and the pub have a cozy look and feel, like they come right out of a classic novel. The room was sufficiently big and comfortable, with a small table we could use as desk (for necessary schoolwork). The bathroom and room were perfectly clean, and the room was tidied up daily while we were out. The host and staff were always friendly and accommodating, both in providing information on getting around, meal times, special meal requests, etc.

I found the room the most well equipped room than any hotel I have ever been to . The only exception would be a face cloth for washing. I’m Canadian and most of us use face wash cloths. No big deal I borrowed one from a Scottish friend of mine.

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

I did two Rabbies trips, one to Dunnator Castle and one to Dundee & St Andrews.I walked to Torry Battery to view the dolphins which was a good walk to see the harbour and wildlife below the cliffs. I also got the train for the short ride to Stonehaven (which I loved)lots of lovely walks around the town and a fantastic croissant shop.I went in the Maritime museum (which was directly opposite the Ibis hotel) that was brilliant.Overall I was very impressed with Aberdeen.

Aberdeen is a great city for getting around - there are lots of buses but it is also easy to walk to many of the attractions. We loved having the beach a short 20 minute walk away from the city centre. We also headed out to the lighthouse and were lucky anough to spot seals and dolphins. Duthie Park was a lovely relaxed spot and the winter gardens were beautiful and free! We travelled there by plane and it was easy to get into the city and back on the 727 bus. Aberdeen airport itself was a great little airport with a couple of places to eat and a handul of shops after security.

The beach is long and clean.

The beach is long and clean. There is a lot of construction work ongoing at the ice rink and swimming pool. It will be very good. Amustments and funfair open at 10. Ideal for the kids. The City is great for walking with nice parks with mostly clean streets. Of course it has its not so nice parts where the junkies hang about, every major city or town has them. Art gallery and museums worth a visit. loads of eating places.

Never visited before- Aberdeen shone in the sunlight.

Never visited before- Aberdeen shone in the sunlight. Very Green on all road approaches and into the city. Great character - reminded me in many ways of Edinburgh [a city I do love]. I was expecting a grimy / dirty experience but it was far from that. Really impressed..... Lovely eatery options and pubs / entertainment. Docks also much bigger than expected. Tarragon on the Terrace gave us our best meal of a two week trip around both the Orkneys & Mainland Scotland - just excellent. Very walkable City Centre - not flat but that adds character. Don't be afraid to go down the steps / side streets etc. if you can. The Maritime Museum must get a special mention, really interesting and amazingly free to enter - entirely worth a visit.

    It’s a big gray city.

It’s a big gray city. A lots of lovely parks and pathways to walk (to Torry Batery, to Brig O’Braowine, by the beach…). It’s also a city with a lot of history and sometimes very dark and morbid. They are lots of hidden or very big street arts around the city which makes walking in the city pretty interested.

Beautiful clean hotel with great selection of food both for breakfast and in the restaurant, bar looked very inviting but not enough time to use it. very helpful team from reception to housekeeping. Wanted to sample the spa facilities but unfortunately ran out of time on our stay. Excellent transport links, outside Aberdeen Rail station the airport bus from Union square stops right by the hotel with a frequent service

The hotel cancelled my booking three hours before I was about to check in (probably to resell it at a higher rate given hotel rooms in Aberdeen were at a premium due to the Tall Ships races being held so there were no hotel rooms to be had anywhere). Absolutely disgraceful. No offer to help us find alternative accommodation. Would not recommend this hotel.

I didn’t stay here. I doesn’t exist. Why is it being advertised as this is next to airport. I was moved to Brentwood Aberdeen City Centre, with an address of 101 Crown St, Aberdeen, AB11 6HH. However when inside I was impressed with the budget room. Clean and cosy. Value for money. I was at back of hotel which I like so no traffic noise.
