wow what a stay! we took our 2 dogs for 2 night. The staff were absolutely amazing and the dogs were spoilt rotten. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were amazing! We got a garden view room so that we could let the dogs out easily in the morning and during the night. Dogs are allowed off lead in the gardens but not many people do to be honest! The room was exceptionally clean, bed was comfy and the dogs even had a little goody bag! We ate in the hotel for 1 of the nights and for breakfast and the food was phenomenal! Would thoroughly recommend you eat here one night if you can! The website says dogs can only eat in the bar but the staff put us in the garden lounge where we could sample both the bar and alacarte menu. The location of the hotel is perfect. 5 min drive from Ambleside and about 10 mins from Windermere. You could walk it too but it was raining heavily when we went! Most walks are also a short drive away. As a young couple the location was perfect for us!

Perfect sized town for having adequate facilities but without the crowds of Windemere. Easy to walk just a short way out to spectacular trails and views, good enough choice of restaurants and cafes to fill a week, lovely park for kids, waterside activities within walking distance.

Well located for Windermere and lots of other destinations because of the good bus routes. It was very clean and the restaurants were very good. Ambleside had plenty going on and it was easy to walk to Lake Windermere and the local park had tennis courts and crazy golf. Shelia’s restaurant and Matthew’s were extremely good so was the fine chocolate shop.

The hotel was a disappointment. Reception was at the Bar.

The hotel was a disappointment. Reception was at the Bar. The receptionist was in a bad mood and had no customer care at all. it seems if he smiled he will get in trouble. Room was not ready until 5pm. the room had no view at all. There was no air conditioning and the weather was so hot. As for the lake view as beautiful, we walked around the centre, it was quiet and peaceful. boat ride was also fun.

A beautiful, well kept area of the lakes with plenty of shops and eateries. Great location for walkers to explore from and relax in the evenings…. Can get very busy in summer months but never disappoints no matter what time of year. Hope the area never changes and remains as picturesque for years to come and not ruined by ugly out of character buildings in the future. We need to preserve this iconic and picturesque area of our country for years to come

The location was perfect, just a minutes walk into the centre of Ambleside, with parking directly outside the property. The views from the apartment were amazing. Check in was very easy picking the keys up on arrival from outside the apartment. The owner, Dave, was available at all times if needed and was very welcoming. The bottle of Prosecco on arrival was also a lovely added touch. Would definitely return in the near future.
