The room was clean, comfortable and nicely designed. The staff were welcoming and helpful. There is hot breakfast included in the rate of the room and it was fantastic. The hotel restaurant is lovely with a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. The hotel is located right on the main road of this tiny little village, a short walking distance from its main attraction - the Bamburgh Castle.

Cowslip is a fantastically located, well furnished, and well presented lodge. We cooked lovely meals and enjoyed spending time in the family areas during our stay. The attention to detail with the decor and furniture choices doesn’t go unnoticed. The bottle of wine, and biscuits upon arrival is a nice touch! A fabulous base to explore the beaches and castle from!

    Bamburgh Castle was excellent would definitely visit again.

    Bamburgh Castle was excellent would definitely visit again. The village is beautiful and well looked after. We also visited Seahouses a busy fishing village, expensive for parking, we had an Indian meal and this was first class food. Walked round the harbour it was a busy with lots of working fishing boats and tourist tour boats.

    Much busier than it used to be but a lovely place to visit.

    Much busier than it used to be but a lovely place to visit. The Grace Darling Museum is great, as is the church. The Copper Kettle Tea Rooms are fantastic and the staff remember you, as they do in The Victoria Hotel restaurant, which is also good. The Walled Garden is smart and a great place for children and the gardens are beautiful, The castle is breath taking and the recreation green is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Access to the beach is difficult if you have mobility issues and parking can be a nightmare. If you are staying in Bamburgh but need to drive to the local attractions, you can park in the new carpark but at a fixed rate of 6 pounds!!

    Fantastic beach, huge skies and beautiful views of the coast...

    Fantastic beach, huge skies and beautiful views of the coast towards Lindisfarne to the north and the Farne islands to the south. Awesome castle ( and very interesting to visit). Very attractive and immaculate village. As a Londoner this was the visit I needed and hope to repeat.

    The village has loads of character and we enjoyed the Museum...

    The village has loads of character and we enjoyed the Museum and Castle very much..We ate in the Middle Inn a couple times and found the staff friendly and food good.Overall a very central point for visiting that part of the world.

    I absolutely loved Bambugh.

    I absolutely loved Bambugh. It was the 1st time i have visited this place and it has met all of my expectations. I loved visiting the castle, as there was a 1940s event going off, that was my main reason for visiting. The castle itself was interesting to go around, with lots of artifacts inside. The beach was one of the cleanest beaches I have ever been on. The sand is a gorgous white and the sea itself has a blue haze to it, to show how clear it really is. There is also a cafe and a tea room to visit, which I would recommend. The scones are freshly baked and are served with butter, cream and jam. There is also a few pubs along the route. I went into the Castle and ate there for 2 nights. The staff were excellent and polite and the service was quick and 2nd to none. The food and drink was wonderful, you felt full as soon as you had eaten. I also visited the church and the grounds which was peaceful and overlooked the beach.

    Bamburgh is a lovely village with some great places to eat...

    Bamburgh is a lovely village with some great places to eat and drink, with beautiful beaches nearby, and Bamburgh Castle, which is well worth a visit. Bamburgh is also well situated for visiting other areas of the Northumberland coast and the Scottish Borders.

    Location is great, with easy access to all of the sights and places that we wanted to see. Service station shop for emergency buts and a decent pub in Lucker ( 5mins) - also appreciated the Bamburgh bangers ! Rooms are all a decent size and the downstairs bedroom and en suite was great for the more senior members of our group. Some great views from the upstairs bedrooms.
