Good quality hotel with exceptional staff. Would definitely stay again. I slept better than I usually do when I travel. The bed was very comfortable, not too firm and not too soft, just perfectly in between. It was very clean and I loved their soaps and lotions! The centre location was perfect and I was able to walk to the cinema safely. As a single female, that was an important feature.

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my mum's 60th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to ensure she and my dad had a memorable stay. She hasn't stopped raving about the exceptional service they received during their stay. The hotel was kind enough to upgrade them to the Palatial Suite and they were absolutely thrilled!! I cannot thank you enough for making their stay so special!

Friendly and attentive reception staff. Ben was very helpful with queries I had with directions to a local event I was attending. Was offered a choice of rooms available which was amazing and took into account mobility issues with choice of room. Asked if it be possible to return after a conference to collect car. Nothing was a problem and was always helpful & polite. The hotel itself is beautiful with a very calming, relaxed feel. Beautifully decorated with l a great deal of thought taken with guests in mind. The room.was very spacious, super comfortable bed. Normally I struggle sleeping in a hotel, however I had a rested night. Extra touches of coffee machine, kettle, ironing facilities wonderful. Amazing bathroom with free standing bath and huge walk in shower. Complimentary toiletries, an extra touch, which I was thankful for after forgetting to pack these! Although I didn't eat in the restaurant/bistro in the evening I had a wonderful breakfast the following morning. The lady attending to guests was very polite, helpfully explaining breakfast cold buffet ordering cooked breakfast. Food on the buffet was well presented with plenty of food available. Good range of food available. Upon settling on fruit salad, this was followed by a full cooked breakfast and hot chocolate. The hot breakfast was a perfect size and very tasty. I cannot fault anything during my stay at Hotel du Vin, Cheltenham. Thank you to the manager and members of staff who provided me with a perfect stay.

Everything about the hotel excellent. The staff wonderful and encouraging. We were there to attend a family funeral. The owners offered to have our dog with them until we returned. The both the dinner and breakfast menus had something for everyone. The dining room 😍 👌 was lovely as was the bar. Definitely will stay here again.

We were there for a wedding in Cowley which was approx 10 min taxi journey. We used a local taxi company who was very reasonable and very helpful. It’s a nice location to tour around the beautiful countryside and other attractions. The roads were pretty clear to drive on.

Convenient location, close to road network for visiting Cotswolds. During our short trip we visited Stow on Wold, Burton on the Water (very busy), Fairfield, Cirencester and Burford (my favourite). A visit to Cheltenham is also a must

As a village, Birdlip has no other facilities; it isn’t a big place and it seems many villages in the Cotswolds don’t have so much as a corner shop. Birdlup is no exception. But that’s not what it’s about. The village is very conveniently placed for visiting many of the attractions in the Cotswolds; Gloucester is only a few minutes drive away, Cirencester is not far. There are numerous parks, beauty spots, and places to enjoy nature nearby ( driving distance). There are numerous National Trust sites within a 30 mile radius and transport links (Birdlip is just off the A417) are good. Warwickshire, Worcestershire, even the eastern borders of Wales aren’t too far away. Birdlip is a reasonably attractive village and there are some public footpaths leading out into the lovely Cotswolds countryside for those able and willing to do some walking. It is a hilly area though, so expect some exertion to be necessary. At night, traffic in Birdlip seems to be pretty much non existent, and although the A417 is close by, traffic noise just drops off to the faintest of levels; we had our bedroom window wide open and barely heard it. For this reason alone, Birdlip is an excellent place to stay so that after a day of driving to various attractions, you get back to a peaceful evening and an undisturbed sleep. It has one pub/hotel/restaurant, the Royal George Inn, which is friendly, relaxed, welcoming and comfortable.

Birdlip is a great place for walking.

Birdlip is a great place for walking. We did 2 long walks from the village, one which involved a lot of steep hills and the other through some beautiful meadows and valleys. The countryside is stunning and we only saw a couple of other people on our walks.

We were walking the Cotswolds Way and the Royal George was just off the Route. You can access the hotel in the village of Birdlip, from just off the Trail, rather than having to walk on the busy main road. We had a great stay, it was exceptional Value for money, with a great room that had a massive bed. The evening meals and breakfast had great choices and were lovely and the staff were very friendly.

Friendly staff. Access easy, my room was ground floor not far from reception. Good food. Bit disappointed that bar was closed and no staff around when I came back to hotel. Must admit I didn’t check . But would’ve been nice to have the option to have any type of drink
