Breakfast was included in my room rate and the selection was outstanding. The refurbished dining room was beautiful and the staff was attentive. The location had plenty of coffee and eating places nearby. I had requested a bath and I was upgraded at no extra charge to meet my request - impressive! I would go back AGAIN, AS i

Elisa at the reception did her utmost for us, so I hardly remember we had such service even at 5-star hotels. In general the hotel is just a perfect and very affordable place to stay in the very centre in walking distance from the New Street station with direct reach to the airport. Also liked bathroom, small yet extremely convenient.

FAQs about hotels in Birmingham

Top-Class Shopping, Culture and Sport

The UK's 2nd largest city, Birmingham is one of its top cultural centres. Well-known for the M6 Spaghetti Junction interchange, it is a surprisingly green city with lots of open spaces.

Most city centre hotels in Birmingham are near New Street Station. To the east is the futuristic architecture of the new Bull Ring shopping centre, and just behind is Digbeth Coach Station. To the west is Victoria Square, home of the town hall and a German Christmas Market.

The Mailbox is one of the newest additions to the Birmingham shopping scene, and behind it is one of the canals converging on the Gas Street Basin. By one canal are the ICC (International Convention Centre) and the NIA (National Indoor Arena), both venues that host major events.

Just opposite is Brindleyplace, a canal-front complex of restaurants, bars and hotels near Broad Street – the main nightlife area. It is popular with students at nearby Birmingham University, whose clock tower is modelled on the one in Siena. Just south in Bournville is Cadbury World, and there are several hotels on Hagley Road to the north, which are available on Booking.com.

The city is also known for sports – Aston Villa and Birmingham City are the top football clubs, while Edgbaston Cricket Ground hosts international matches. Other Birmingham attractions include Hockley’s Jewellery Quarter and the NEC arena by Birmingham International Airport.

Birmingham is a beautiful city, very easy to navigate and find your way around whether walking or using the tram. Our favourite area was the restaurants and bars around the canal, also Brindley Place. We ate at Binarajee as wanted to try the 'home of the Balti", it didn't disappoint!

There needs to be better signs from the car park to tell you where to go to find the entrance to Malmaison hotel. The Manager and staff need to walk themselves from the car park as there is lack of signage. But - once you get to the hotel, it is fantastic! You will want to come time and time again. The room was spacious and comfortable, the hotel was GREAT!!!

The fact that everything was within 20 mins walking distance. The people were very helpful for example we were looking lost and a lady from the street stopped and offered us help. The openness of the city and how the heroes were being celebrated eg Janice Long and especially Black Sabbath and especially the recently departed great Ozzy Osbourne.

If you visit the UK, you can miss Birmingham without missing anything relevant. It is quite a boring city, except for bars around the canal and the library. The centre is somewhat depressing (many places have closed down) and monotonous. In addition, drivers in public transport (from the airport to the centre) were rude

Everything was spotless and the decor was just beautiful. It really did feel like a home away from home. Definitely recommend for those who are looking for a quiet place to stay whilst still being in the middle of the city. Everything is within walking distance too, tram is only a 5 minute walk away and it takes you straight into the city centre. Staff at reception were very welcoming and helpful. Check in was super quick and smooth. Thank you to everyone at Aparthotel Birmingham! I will be coming back again for sure.

In a great location on Broad street in Birmingham city centre. There is parking behind the hotel and you just drive into the multi storey letting staff know you have a vehicle with you on check in. Amazingly clean, the lobby was secure, the staff were very welcoming and the rooms were furnished to a great standard. Breakfast was a good standard and just a beautiful hotel all around!
