Frequent traveller visiting places and hotels all over the world & a chef myself, this was a real reminder of excellence in such a gorgeous location. I wanted to eat everything on the menu, which has clearly been put together to take advantage of locally sourced produce. The staff couldn't do enough for us , with a good old-fashioned customer service. The decor and rooms make for a country house feel with a modern twist.... There's been no expense spared on the recent refurbishment. If Iived a little closer, I would be a regular, sadly living in Perth Australia 🇦🇺 it will have to be next year! Good luck to the whole team as you make this beautiful place come into its full glory.

Gorgeous spacious room and bathroom. Delightful staff. Views across the river were spectacular. We had dinner and breakfast- both were excellent. Really recommend the sea food linguine!

A lovely friendly greeting followed by an excellent meal. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the room size was generous. The attention to detail was super, extra towels, fresh milk and quality coffee. All at a very reasonable price

I only stayed 1 night from midnight to 6 am as part of a longer journey but the staff very kindly booked me in even at that late hour. Room was a good size, clean and comfortable and there was a wooded area next to the hotel which is ideal if you are travelling with a dog.

Charming Historic hotel with everything cared in detail, absolutely clean and maintained. Nice view of garden from window, all amenities, tea/coffee facilities, complimentary water , fresh towels, sparkling bathroom, clean carpets, lovely furnishings and decorations. Warm & comfortable (on a hideous November night). Despite the rain & gale-force winds outside, both our room and bathroom were warm to the settings we chose on the thermostats. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent (best steaks ever) & all the staff were welcoming and helpful - nothing’s ever too much trouble. Great breakfast too & safe, free, off-road parking. Our second stay & the perfect stop-over.
