Landlady is absolutely awesome, she is so nice and helpful. Every morning was preparing breakfast for us, fruit with yogurt, some cereals, milk, different kind of eggs and toasts. Was also ready to make us a traditional full cooked breakfast. Our room was spacious with a private bathroom. Every day nicely cleaned with a bed made, and as a bonus homemade cookies, muffins and other pastries were waiting for us from landlady.

The Highland getaway was amazing..very much 5 star.. had things we didn't think we needed! The attention to detail was above and beyond. Even dressing gowns and slippers. Beds were super comfy. Shower was powerfully and hot. And cooking facility was spot on. The kids loved the freedom of the park with forest walks across the road. And steam train within 5 mins walk.. no WiFi was not a problem for us. But there was no connection.

Stayed here as part of a rail tour. Fabulous location. Had to stay longer because of flooding - no trains - and the staff were brilliant - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you!

    Lovely little village, idyllic scenery.

    Lovely little village, idyllic scenery. Great location for nearby attractions and not as busy and touristy as nearby Aviemore. Next time I visit I will definitely consider again and stay a little longer to explore.

    Boat of Garten is just a small village in the Scottish Highlands there is a nice little restaurant 50yds away which serves excellent meals and a carry out fresh made Pizza facility, there is also a nice hotel about 400m away which serves excellent meals, well situated for the Osprey viewing observatory, close to Landmark adventure park, and not far from Aviemore highland resort.

    Owners where welcoming friendly the room was big and big bathroom with shower they supplied towels hair conditioner shampoo body wash a hair dryer there was coffee tea hot chocolate biscuits supplied by was adequate bedding n linen the breakfast was nice would go back if was in area

    Boat of Garten is a great base from which to explore. Grantown-on-Spey is only a few minutes away witha good selection of shops and you are surrounded by beautiful countryside which is easily accessible.

    Boat of Garten is a great little village with all the necessaries. The post office/village shop has some excellent fare on offer. Anderson's restaurant and the Boat Hotel are well worth a visit. The EV chargers at the village hall are very convenient and the village is surrounded by a variety of well maintained and signed forest paths to suit all abilities.

    Location was great. Short drive into Aviemore where you can also jump on the train and take a day trip to Inverness. The lodge was spacious and well equipped for what we needed. It was clean and perfect for our stay. The large decking area around the lodge was also great and enclosed so we could let the dog wander around and know she couldn’t escape! The host always responded very quickly to any messages that I sent and also accommodated an early check in with no additional charge.

    Clean, comfortable, nicely presented hotel in a splendid location with pleasant staff. Unfortunate issue with there being no hot water one morning, but this was resolved later that day. Would suggest that they remove some of the menu options and stick to what they do best. The traditional menu options we had were good but the avocado on toast should not be on the menu until they have a cook who knows how to make it.

    Lovely atmosphere, really friendly welcome and lots of tips for our onward journey. Email received in advance with restaurant tips which we used to book Andersons seafood platter and had a great evening. Tea coffee and fridge and delicious banana cake on arrival! Breakfast great, lots of lovely fresh fruit, cooked breakfast etc.

    Loved the views, very good location. Walked into Aviemore then got steam train back. Ate at the boat of garten inn which was good unfortunately didn't try Andersons restaurant but looked good. Best freshly baked bread at the village store!
