An absolute joy to stay at the Craigie Hotel. From check in over the facilities of the bedroom, bathroom, its cleanliness, the enjoyable bar, the food in their restaurant, culinary surprises at breakfast... All personnel working for this hotel, along with the boss, seem to be trained to drown all customers into a warm bath of being completely spoiled. What surprised us even more was that post check-out, when we were on the way home, we were called by the hotel to let us know that our daughter forgot her teddy in the bed. It would have been an absolute disaster only discovering this when we would have been at home. This proves that even post check-out (and after all was paid for), we had the feeling of being taken care of. Just wonderful.

We loved our stay at the Lane Hotel and found it great value for money. The rooms are spacious, modern, nicely decorated and very comfortable. There is a bus stop just across the street and plenty of shops/breakfast places/supermarkets nearby.

Greeted by Kevin, the owner, who was super informative about getting about, and about our stay. The location of the hotel is great with easy access into the city. The rooms are big and comfortable with a great size bathroom. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with great variety offered. Kevin is an exceptional host, super friendly and welcoming, which will definitely guarantee us returning for another stay, when we head back to Edinburgh again.

The accommodation at Prestonfield House and the quality of service is out of this world. From the rooms, decor, setting and grounds to the quality of the service, food and staff, I would say a rating of 10/10 is too low. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it will go down as a special moment in our memories. And we are definitely planning to return.

I recently stayed at The Scholar Hotel in Edinburgh for 4 days and had a wonderful experience. The hotel offers a convenient parking spot in its courtyard, which was a great perk.     Good quiet location but not much in Bonnyrigg or the surrounding towns. Handy for Edinburgh and Lothian coastal resorts. For us must see was nearby Roslin Chapel. Only nuisance was traffic on bypass at the nearest junctions.

    Excellent vegetarian breakfast, beautifully cooked. Spacious room, with plenty of cupboard/drawer space. Loved the original shutters, which completely shut out all light. Loved that the conversion to a hotel is in keeping with the original building. Often the conversion of similar buildings results in a more modern section, but that didn’t apply here. Cleaning staff seemed excellent.
