Very charming and comfy, cozy room and big living area, the staff was very nice. Breakfast was good and with lots of choices. Had a pint and dinner two nights in a row and it was quite lovely, some regulars from the town and other guests, overall an amazing experience and many trails easily accessible for hikers ;-)

Bovey Tracey is easy to walk around.

Bovey Tracey is easy to walk around. A 'must see' is the beautiful park area where there is an abundance of huge trees, a great children's area, and easy walking. Continue through the park and you'll come to the Forest where you can enjoy perfect walks, with a welcoming cafe part way! Another 'must visit' is to a building called 'Jollys'. This is en route to the Heritage Centre (another place worthy of a visit). The gentleman who owns Jollys, is a motorcycle collector. He has a large collection of bikes, including several custom built ones, found on the ground floor. It is definitely worth spending time studying them as the art work is quite outstanding. Carry on upstairs and you'll be astounded at the full sized models of anything and everything! Bovey Tracy has something for everyone! Hope you enjoy your visit.

There are some beautiful walks. Across the road (B3387) from the National Park Visitors Centre, Haytor, is the start of a fantastic walk across the moors. It encompasses Haytor Rocks, a clapper bridge across a stream, several historic points of interest, as well as returning through acres of blue bells (spectacular in May). Below The Rock Inn is a beautiful short walk down a glen. through massive trees, beside a stream.

Lovely gardens, dog friendly, left a treat in a bowl for our pooch. Kitchen was more an adequate, ideal for 2 people, large shower, close to Hytor walks and not far from a local store/petrol station if you wanted supplies. Only negative was the mattress not very comfy.

The location was perfect with easy access to the moors and Tors. There was plenty of storage space to keep clothes etc. The kitchen was superb and well appointed with plenty of pans for cooking and crockery. The bedrooms were a bit dark because of foliage growing across the windows.Would have liked a shelf to keep toiletries in the bathroom.Perhaps a bbq would have been good to have in the garden.

A quiet village off the beaten track but only a short distance from the trunk road (A38) through South Devon. We dined in the Hotel. Superb walking on Dartmoor : the big Hay Tor granite outcrop is only 40 minutes on foot uphill from our quarters in the Rock Inn, or ten minutes drive plus 30 minutes walk if you are starting from the village.

Small village with few shops. The Indian restaurant was very good. Accessible to lovely countryside walks from the village. National Trust Parke on the edge of the village follows the river with plenty of walks. Situated on the outskirts of Dartmoor which offers wonderful scenery and plenty of Tors to hike.

The location is excellent, on a street that rises steeply out of the centre of Bovey Tracey, itself a good base for exploring eastern Dartmoor and nearby coastal areas. The front of the house has an elevated positions, with views over the Bovey valley towards the moorland. The house is small but quite well equipped, with all the household items needed for a holiday stay. And parking is easy enough - unrestricted in the street immediately in front of the cottage. Plenty of hot water and a good shower in the upstairs bathroom.

Lovely staff and a pub hotel with a lot of old world charm. The perfect place to stay after a long day of walking Dartmoor. The restaurant in the pub was great food and child friendly with chatty locals. the room was huge with a lot of space and the facilities were great, especially for the price. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it as a overnight spot for access to the top sites of the moorland.

The overall building (which is predominantly the new owner’s personal home rather than a hotel) is a beautiful building. It’s very close to amazing walks/rides (and the Parke Parkrun!) and within a few minutes drive/15 minutes walk of Bovey Tracey with good cafes/bakeries and small shops.

The Dolphin is a friendly and welcoming hotel and pub. The room we had was excellent, quiet and well equipped. We had a meal in the bar, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was good pub food, with some really good ideas. We would definitely go to the Dolphin again.
