YHA Brecon Beacons was a lovely base for our hiking trip. The location is peaceful and close to major trails, with clean rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and helpful trail maps at reception. Both our pod and shared room were cosy with essentials like heating and plug points. The pricing was very reasonable for the comfort offered. The only issue was the strict 5–10 PM check-in window. It was the first and last time.
It was the first and last time. Litter outside everywhere, payments covered in fag ends. Normal for smokers ! Parking is poor.... hotel did not advise. Alcohol, drinking and swearing outside the hotel to 2am. The night porter could of rang the police but didnt.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

A quaint town. Only experienced it for one evening. Chose Brecon Tap for dinner and it was excellent, fabulous pies, beers, ciders and warm atmosphere. Brecon is a second home for me as I have family in the area.
Brecon is a second home for me as I have family in the area. Lovely town with some very pretty Georgian architecture and some lovely shops and cafes. Fabulous museums. The military museum is particularly interesting. Pretty canal for canal holidays too. Countryside around is stunning.Guest review byDe Montfort.

It is in an ideal location for hiking up Pen Y Fan and it is near Brecon town- 10 minutes on foot! The family room looked exactly as in the photos. The family room was spacious with furniture. The en-suite bathroom was large and clean, with bathing products and towels provided. The beds were clean, comfortable and cosy. The Welsh breakfast was delicious and hearty. The property is very well equipped and furnished to a high standard. We especially liked the fantastic shower and the log burner in the living room. Our host had supplied milk, a lovely Barra Brith and even a bottle of wine. It proved to be a perfect location for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park and beyond.
