Chumleigh is a lovely village, and the locals were so friendly and welcoming. This is our second visit, and we will be returning in July for the summer fair. A map might suggest that Chulmleigh is a bit remote but it has a good road north and south. Whole area is surrounded by many friendly pubs serving good food at fair prices. Excellent Breakfast Selection . Slightly disappointed that at the Evening Meal the Menu was the same. My Wife loved the surrounding Garden. i was taken ill on our first night - My Wife asked for help-very quick response by members of the Staff including the Joint Owner and a former Nurse taking me to the nearest Hospital and where I had excellent treatment . Many members of the Staff asked how I was getting on during the balance of our Staff. They could not have been more helpful and friendly. Unspoilt pretty village with lots of history in architecture and only coat of arms to Charles 1 st . Good local store, newsagents and hairdresser amongst others. Both do really good foord. Room met our expectations as we needed a central base to tour aroud Devon. Chulmleigh is a small village, but there are many other facilities available within a drive.
