We had the suite, very large rooms and very nice. Breakfast was lovely and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Easy access to other villages and restaurants in the area. Interesting to stay in such an old building.

    We used Clare as a base to visit places in Suffolk/Essex/Cambridgeshire. Our favourite places in Clare itself were Clare Castle, the old railway line/station buildings and Clare Priory. It's very easy to get around Clare, it's only a small place so pretty much everything is in walking distance.

    A lovely town with very pretty old buildings.

    A lovely town with very pretty old buildings. The best meal we had was at the Mughal Knight Indian Restaurant (tip - bring your own drink they are not currently serving alcohol and there is no corkage charge for bring-your-own).

    The pod was the perfect size for a couple. Pretty much everything we could get with a normal hotel room was provided - bed with bedding, bedside table, bedside lamp, travel kettle. Although the site is off-grid, we only had to pay £3 to top up electricity (on top of the £2 already topped up by owner). The pod and the toilets and shower rooms were spotless and very close to pod.. The owners are friendly and helpful. Food is provided on site throughout day and it is cheap and tasty.

    The cottage is in a great location right in the centre of the small town of Clare - there is a lot to do locally and in the wider Suffolk/Essex/Cambridgeshire area. The cottage is very well equipped so no need to bring too much from home. The OS Explorer maps provided are a great idea - very useful for walks on local footpaths!

    Ideal location right in the centre of Clare. Not a lot of space, but well arranged to make best use of space available. Sweet little courtyard area outside. Received detailed and helpful instructions to access cottage, and it was ready ahead of scheduled time.

    We enjoyed our stay at Ship Stores very comfortable and a great location, Debra looked after us and most helpful. Clare is a great destination nice walks around the Castle, the swan serves very good food.
