A nice and fully eqipped hotel in the centre of Gillingham at a VERY competitive price. Friendly personnell and good breakfast. We will come again next year on our regular trip to the UK!

A little gem! I would give it 11 out of 10 if I could. Fell upon this by sheer luck and ended up staying 4 nights instead of 1, we were so comfortable. Can’t understand some of the negative comments on the reviews. The staff are incredible, hardworking, happy, friendly, anything you want they will try and accommodate you, always someone available day and night, really flexible to special requests and caring regarding special diets. They make it like a home from home and the level of customer service is something that is very rare these days. They found me a room with a microwave when I told them on check in that I travel with my own food due to dietary restrictions. Our room was spacious and had every amenity you could think of, bed was comfortable, big soft thick towels. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Lounge area really homely, warm and cosy. Very good breakfast options, pub type menu available to order until about 9pm with some good quality hot food and gluten free options. Really good bar and service. Free tea and coffee 24 hour self service machine plus hot and cold water dispenser. Very good security both building and car park. Residents only hotel so always plenty of tables in lounge/restaurant and no need to worry about who might be coming into the hotel/restaurant. Most of the hotel including the lounge/restaurant has had a refurb/makeover/redecoration. A big personal thanks to all the staff for being so helpful to me during our stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend. Easy to find and access and plenty of free secure parking. Very fairly priced and good value for money.

i loved staying at this fascinating hotel it oozes history and is situated on the high street a few minutes from the station the area was very busy with visitors and when the evening came the pubs and restaurants were very vibrant the hotel is so conveniant i was back just a few minutes after my night out

Everything was great. The staff is very friendly, always helpful and always has a smile on their faces. The location on the lake is indescribably beautiful. The lake view rooms are unique. Dogs are welcome in this hotel. There are guidelines, but these are not a problem for dog owners. We would like to say thank you to the entire team for this relaxing stay. We would love to come back. Clean, close to the bridge so easy to pop over to Rochester town centre. Close to a supermarket if you need anything.. In general it was very close to anything we wanted, and the fact that it was oposite side of the river from Rochester centre, gave us the opportunity to cross the pretty Bridge a few times. The room was well looked after, tidy, bathroom clean. Towels and toiletries were provided. I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting the area. It is very close to Strood train station, and a walkable distance from Rochester station. It is also very close to the river bank and it is quite pretty when the moon is out at night.

I attended a Christmas Party the weekend just gone with my work colleagues and I was told that numbers were low, so wasn’t expecting much, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to get us into the Christmas spirit. The hotel threw a Masquerade ball, with masks available if we didn’t bring our own, they put a red carpet out with black and gold balloons along with many other christmas decorations. “-course meal and I’d definitely come back.

    We stayed here as we were going to a wedding reception at Cooling Barn, which was about an 8 minute drive away. Nothing in the immediate vicinity but peace & quiet! Lovely open land surrounding the property. Good proximity to Rochester.

    This is a funny part of the world (some would say off the beaten track) but we attended an event in the area and had not been to this part of Kent. It was a beautifully sunny crisp winter's weekend and we managed to visit part of the RSPB area which was absolutely stunning and had a lovely cafe (Healthy Planet?). Recommend and we'll be back another time to explore more - it's only as the RSPB note board states 20 miles from central London.
