Lovely main building, loved the decor they used a great interior designer, quirky and interesting. We were in the annexe where the rooms were large with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities and a great shower. Dinner was in their restaurant, really delicious as was breakfast.

The location was just outside the city, making it perfectly located and so peaceful. The grounds were INCREDIBLE with secret garden areas surrounding the property. Property itself is quintessential country charm. Staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Room itself was cozy.

What a beautiful village pub with friendly locals & fantastic staff, on arrival I was really early but my room was already available, my room was extremely spacious with TV tea / coffee etc & nice & warm, definitely recommend for a night or two, weekend away etc Thanks to Dave & Joanne for fantastic hospitality & a cracking breakfast

The room was spacious and well-decorated. We has all the amenities we needed (robes, slippers, working TV, hair dryer, etc.). The hotel has plenty of activities, so take advantage! We did archery, horseback riding, went to the spa, at at the on-site restaurant, and played tennis (with rackets and balls they provided). It felt like such a genuine country-side experience and was simultaneously relaxing and activity-filled. Staff was wonderful and kind. We would absolutely return.

    We loved the hotel it was everything we expected.

    We loved the hotel it was everything we expected. The garden dining area was so lovey and the staff through out the hotel were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel for a night or two stay whilst in cotswalds.

    There is not much here as it's a tiny little hamlet.

    There is not much here as it's a tiny little hamlet. The Metheun Arms must do a tremendous business as I don't know what other restaurant/inn is around. Luckily for us, it (MA) was a fabulous place! The old church is a pretty thing/old cemetery too (with a gravestone that sites some 107 year old woman had "fresh teeth" (story has that she grew a 3rd set! EW!). One grocery store, a few shops ... not much but walking the footpath was lovely. Lots of peacocks, which was novel. The museum we wanted to see wasn't open when we were there.

    Good for walking - many walking routes provided by Corsham walkers are welcome website - It has a variety of good local independent shops. Good public transport connections between primarily Bath and Chippenham with other buses going elsewhere. Plenty of pubs and cafes Good local sports centre at the Springfield campus

    Our trip was to attend my Uncles Funeral at Westerleigh...

    Our trip was to attend my Uncles Funeral at Westerleigh Crematorium on the outskirts of Bristol, sadly due to work commitments are stay visiting the area was one day at the funeral and Wake and a night either side, so not long enough to sample the delights on offer seeing the area surrounding Bristol and Bath we saw very little. We know the area so hopefully we will be able to visit soon and discover more hidden delights available

    We stayed in Corsham as a base for visiting Bath (approx 12 miles outside) and so glad that we did. The location is very picturesque with beautiful countryside and the hotel was beautiful. If you don't want to stay in the middle of a city and like to experience the best of both worlds, this was an excellent option.

    Nice village with amazing green spaces, woodland and river location. Excellent for dog walking, places to stay and eat. Great walking but some steep hills to climb , some lovely traditions buildings, and friendly locals Stayed at the Quarryman’s Arms , lovely place with great food and amazing views. Busy with locals and packed full for dinner & in the bar which is always a good sign.

    I stayed in a Shepherds Hut. They are simple, but elegant - worth noting that there is no power supplied and lighting comes from a single candle and a wood burner. The beds and linens are excellent and the food is as good as you’d expect. The staff were, without exception, helpful, friendly and well trained. This is a quirky choice - but one that will reward you!! Don’t go expecting a cookie cutter luxury hotel - it has MPW’s name on it - and, I sense, his no nonsense approach in all aspects. It works, superbly.

    It was a lovely house and a lot of thought has gone into your stay while there. There was a large selection of pots, pans etc if you want to stay in and its only about a 4 minute walk away from the village center if you want to eat out. It looks exactly like the photos and we have already decided this is where we will stay again if available on our next visit. I couldn't really fault anything and it felt really secure and peaceful. I have stayed in other places in Corsham and this one is the best by far

    The property is very well located reasonably close to Corsham and within easy driving distance of Bath. It has a great range of equipment and appliances and is spacious for a single roomed annexe, with a large comfortable bed. There is space for one car on the driveway and it has a powerful and easy to control shower in the bathroom area. The hosts had left an initial supply of teas, coffees, milk and biscuits which was much appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

    Our stop in Corsham couldn't be better than this. The room at the Methuen Arms was roomy, clean and overall very nice. The staff was kind and nice with us. Both the dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast were very nice. A special mention to the complementary beer we had for ourselves when we entered the room the first time. Absolutely recommended if you are planning a stop nearby.

    Exterior, grounds and communal areas of the hotel are really lovely. It is a beautiful setting and the Christmas decorations make it look so pretty. It would make a wonderful venue for a wedding with so many photo opportunities. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Love the little onsite pub! Good distance from Bath. A lovely base for a weekend away.
