Lovely location just off the A66. Great for visiting County Durham and North Yorkshire. Stay was made very special by the hotel staff who were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. General manager Paul Riley has put together a great team.

Private hot tub just outside the room overlooking the field. We overlooked the sunset, then once it got dark and turned the garden lights off, we were enveloped by a starry sky. I saw a shooting star! it was just incredible. Moody room with dimmable lighting throughout was so nice, the best decor I've ever seen in British accommodation. Proximity to the restaurant. We wanted somewhere with a hot tub but not self-catered and not a driving distance to a restaurant. the restaurant was a few seconds walk away from our room. Just perfect! We spent most of our stay in the hot tub and it was so relaxing. The hot tub was ready to go in and was very clean! Optimal temp too. Complemented the cold February air very well.

An idyllic setting with a warm welcome, a wonderfully comfortable bedroom and a superb breakfast. Karen is a great hostess and we were only sorry that we weren't able to stay more than the one night on our way to Scotland. We recommend Lily Hill Farm without hesitation - but hurry, because Karen is talking of retiring soon.

The cooked breakfast was superb, especially the grilled bacon. The handmade patchwork quilt in the bedroom was a lovely touch. The little sitting room downstairs was pleasant to sit in after a day out.

Lovely quiet location. Nice cosy apartment. Everything you could possibly need. Perfect for a nice quiet break away. The hosts were available if needed and answered questions before arrival. This place is just beautiful.

    If you are looking for great views, peace and quiet and like...

    If you are looking for great views, peace and quiet and like star gazing, then this is a great place to stay. Very well kept, warm and exceptionally clean cottage. Kitchen well equipped didn't need to bring anything as everything was provided (washing up liquid, foil, cling film etc). Would certainly look for a return visit.
