A M A Z I N G !!! We loved every minute spent in this house, cozy, warm, modern. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in. Location is fantastic, quiet, with a beautiful garden at the back. Parking is just on the doorstep. I will definitely recommend for anyone who wants a luxury cozy stay in the Lakes.

Lovely little cottage, very clean and well furnished. Nice location with views across the hills. My only negative is that it does not have a decent area outside to sit and have a coffee and admire the view.

This hotel is beautiful and nicely positioned overlooking Windermere. The lounge, terrasse and dining room are all well appointed and elegant. The meals are good and the breakfast was particularly delicious. The staff are all friendly and helpful, taking time to assist with whatever you need to know. Our bedroom, although slightly smaller than I expected, was comfortable, clean and had a lovely view.

It was so quaint and beautiful.

It was so quaint and beautiful. Perfect location for a family with small kids. U do definitely need your own car to get around but then everything is accessible. We spent a lot of time around Windermere but also went up to other great places in the Lake District. The house itself is spacious and clean and everything well though through.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, a real home from home.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, a real home from home. It was equipped with everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Views from the cottage were lovely looking over the countryside. The garden was nice although we didn't sit out but is ideal for anyone with children or dogs as its fully enclosed. The roads to the cottage were quite narrow but certainly didn't put us off, as this is the case with a lot of roads in the area. It was ideally located 15 mins from Windermere and same to Kendal. Would recommend the Old Watermill pub for eating out, they are dog friendly and the food is beautiful but not too pricey. Will definitely book again.

The facilities are dated and all be aware the dogs are noisy...

The facilities are dated and all be aware the dogs are noisy especially if left in rooms on their own , and with being a dog friendly hotel , it should be identified that the rooms are not up to the cleanliness of a normal hotel, any movement in the night, the dogs bark and when one starts, they all go for it.

We loved the location but you need transport.

We loved the location but you need transport. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a rural location this is a great location. It is only a 15 min drive into Bowness so a busier, tourist location is nearby. The location is good for both central and south Lakes. We would recommend.

Not much to say because there isn't much in the village...

Not much to say because there isn't much in the village except a very nice pub/restaurant. However, returning to the solitude of the village after a day with the tourist masses in Windermere, Ambleside etc is welcome. There are some lovely walks around the village into the hills, though we didn't tread them on this occasion.

Location near Windermere lake. Dogs friendly hotel, lots of dogs. The staff was helpful and polite. Breakfast was fresh and very nice. Hotel interiors, reception, garden etc. Great bar and lounge areas, spacious and dog friendly. Miniature village outside the hotel, brilliant idea. WiFi is reasonably good for the location, about 15MB, enough for HD streaming not enough for any serious download of course. 4G or 5G on the phone not available.
