Very friendly and kind people, always ready to help with directions, etc. Good mix of restaurants and pubs suited for all budget types. A beautiful town with a lovely harbour. Lots of places to eat and drink whether its a full meal or just coffee and cake. The castle is worth a visit. Been coming to Dartmouth for 25 years and love the place. Noticed quite a few shops empty and restaurants even in high season not open late, booking essential. Dartmouth is a classy destination.
Dartmouth is a classy destination. It's not too big but it still has a number of independent shops, cafes and pubs. The front has lots of seating areas and the harbour is very pleasant. There is a cinema and Marks and Spencer food hall which is handy if you don't want to cook. The walk to the castle is lovely and the views at the castle are out of this world. The floating bridge is worth visiting for food. Ferry and bus service are excellent. Places worth visiting in my opinion are Greenway (Agatha Christies house (National Trust)), Salcombe, Overbeck gardens (National Trust), Totnes and Blackpool sands. The beach at Blackpool sands is made of shale so it's worth taking a pair of beach shoes with you. Places to avoid at all costs are Torquay and Paignton.Guest review bymichelleUnited Kingdom - 8.0

My wife and I have been to Dartmouth a number of times (my wife actually had family locally as a child so she spent many a summer there). We love the town and its location and enjoy visits year on year. We enjoy the seafood restaurants especially and take time to try and new ones. The apartment was lovely, clean and the perfect size for us. The downside is parking. This can be a fun excercise with limited spaces and times close to where the apartment is. We lcuked out hwoever I saw a number of (I assume) visitor cars with tickets on where they had overstayed in 2 hour bays.Guest review byNicholasUnited Kingdom
