We had a lovely weekend in North Wales, staying in a newly refurbished room at the Y Gwydyr Hotel in Dolwyddelan. Dollwyddellan is a short drive from Betws-y-Coed. Trains run between Dollwydellan and Betws-y-Coed every few hours. Y Gwyder is a great place to stay. Namthip and her team were really welcoming. We had a lovely room, it had a comfy super king-size bed (in room 4). Super powerful shower in the bathroom. Lovely bar, with fab Guinness (as well as other beers, wines etc). The bar is cozy, and the locals are friendly. Thai food produced by Namthip was fabulous and they had a traditional bar menu as well. Breakfast is not included in the price of stay. However, it can be arranged at an additional cost, we opted for a bacon sandwich, which was nice. They also have tea coffee, cakes etc available. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place / area.

The last weekend we visited North Wales/Snowdonia/ Dolwyddelan. Our accomodation base was Elen's Castle Hotel. From where we set off to the Mouteins to Snowdon and the Waterfall Pistyll Rhaeadr. Elen's Castle Hotel is a family business with a long tradition. On site we met very nice and hospitable owners. We had 3 rooms and bath room. The rooms were very clean and cozy. The breakfast was very delicious. The coffee was excellent. The hotel is located on the main road A470 in a beautifull valley with wonderful views of the Mouteins, the River and Castle ruin. A beautifull place worth visiting.

This hotel is a local hidden gem in Snowdonia, I would fully recommend visiting when in the local area. Mike and Carrie are superb hosts, fully accommodating and their journey is amazing. The Gorge down the river is truly magical and worth the walk. Rooms are spacious and having a full suite is even better with all new facilities. looking forward to the summer and seeing the progress on the rear of the building. fully deserved rating and will be visiting again.

    Highly recommend staying here.

Highly recommend staying here. Staff were very helpful - we had to check-in to our room late and they were very accommodating in arranging this for us. The room was ideal for our needs - 4 of us. Bathrooms were shared - these were lovely, very modern. There was also a sink in our room. Bedsheets/linen provided. The place was very clean. There was a shared kitchen and lounge area, which was very comfy, with a variety of games and books. Ample, free, parking on the property. We stayed here prior to climbing Snowdon and the location was great for this - only a short drive away. Exceptionally good, especially for the price!

The location set in the most peaceful and beautiful landscape. Fabulous style hostel ideal for walkers on a stop over or for those travelling to other destinations by car where there is plenty of parking space in the hostel grounds. Clean and comfortable throughout with a shared kitchen and common room. Roughly 15-20 minutes walk from Ponty- Pant rail station..

We found the location to be perfect. 30 mins drive gets you to most of the main areas in the Snowdonia National Park. The village is quiet with a couple of Hotels for drink and food and there is a small local store for your essentials. Betws-y-Coed a fantastic little village is only 10 minute drive away. The home contains everything you will need for your stay, it literally is home from home. We will be looking to return again in the near future. 10 out of 10 from us. Highly recommended.

A beautiful location and a lovely cottage, we booked the holiday to get away from everything and in that respect it was superb. The village is just a short stroll down the hill and there is a convenient Londis store in the village. The Eagle Bunkhouse Pub is a nice place to spend the evenings. The cottage is convenient for most of the peaks in Snowdonia and we used it as a base for our walks.

It is in a great location, very beautiful fields and idillic scenery! We had a family room with plenty of space, loved that you can have dinner and breakfasts there. Lovely food. There is also a super nice pub with a great selection of beers. The family who runs it are all very nice, they made us feel at home :)!
