Busy town on a crossroads with long high street.

Busy town on a crossroads with long high street. Handy for accessing A5/M1/M25 (just 20 mins to M1). Good base for visiting Chiltern Hills area with Dunstable Downs a delightful National Trust, ancient chalk downland landscape with far reaching views, visitor centre with cafe and toilets, and you can watch the gliders being towed up and landing below. Other places to visit nearby include Tring Reservoir and Ivinghoe Beacon, Ashridge Forest and Monument. Great base for walking etc

Stayed for 2 nights with my family.

Stayed for 2 nights with my family. We visited Dunstable to attend a football tournament at Creasey Park Community Football Centre and the experience was great. We also visited the Whipsnade zoo which was an amazing experience. The lodge (Redwings Lodge) we stayed was excellent. The only downside was getting an Uber XL away from the lodge but if you are driving or need just an Uber X, you shouldn’t have any issues with commuting. Overall, Dunstable is great if you have a reason to visit.

Location is good. Nothing else was positive.

Location is good. Nothing else was positive. Ground floor room had a nasty mouldy smell on arrival. Carpets dirty and not hoovered. Mattress was old and very saggy. You rolled into the middle. Bathroom was dirty. Broken tiles. Dirty ceilings. Shower didn’t work. No hot water in the sink. Heated towel rail warning. No heated towel rail!!! Breakfast no cutlery had to go back to room and get teaspoons to eat our cereal & use same spoons for hot drinks and yoghurts. 6 chairs in reception to sit. People having to stand and eat or go back to room with food. Staff totally disinterested and unhelpful. Lots of traffic noise from A5. Partner stayed here a few years ago and said the standard now was very poor in comparison. Do not recommend. Much better places for the same cost

    There for work.

There for work. Two great Turkish / Middle Eastern restaurants in town. Both on the high street, one near the middle of town with public car park to the rear of the restaurant, the other towards the north of the town, next to a tyre fitting centre, I park in the tyre bar after they have closed at 6pm. Both restaurants have good service, however both are in the middle to higher price brackets. NOTE::: Traffic calming / speed limit in town centre is 20MPH.

It doesn’t look like the pictures! Offering a breakfast!

It doesn’t look like the pictures! Offering a breakfast! Only to find out the restaurant / breakfast area was up for rent and a big sign outside! Not what it advertised, only stay if it’s the last chance saloon! And you fancy popping a slice of bread in the toaster in the morning! Up side there’s a Macy 100 yards down the road!! Good luck 🤞.

The Sat-Nav made no mistakes and took us into the car-park.This is the worst place I have stayed in.I have the bed bug bites to prove it !!. If i was a fighter pilot and had a full assortment of bombs and machine gun fire,I would irradicate this place off the map,and save the suffering of paying customers the onslaught of this place.

I loved the advert for the hotel, especially as it was the top result when searching for a stay with a pet (dog) however it doesn't allow pets. The staff communicated after the booking, promptly about this and were very nice. There weren't any other options for pet friendly hotels in the area, perhaps this is a business idea for someone! Booking.com won't stop asking for a review for this place even though I didn't actually stay there so here it is! Looked great, didn't stay there but the staff communicated very well.

After having to check out of our original hotel due to the smell and being a council drop off venue, we booked Cherish End last minute. The moment we did it was perfect !!! Carmel & her husband were welcoming, helpful and great hosts. The room was warm, clean and comfortable. The bathroom beautiful and so quiet so we had an amazing night's sleep too followed by a great breakfast. It really has got us thinking about using family run guest houses in future as the service is so much more personal.
