Lovely area, plenty of beautiful beaches to visit and loads of lovely eating spots. Smoo cave was good to see and nice walks around the area. Fuel pumps open 24 hours and reasonably priced. It was a luxurious homely cottage with a great location in the centre of Durness, 15-minute walk from the beach. You can see the sea from the lounge and bedroom window! Durness is an undersold part of the North West.
Durness is an undersold part of the North West. We booked two nights and could have spent a week. There is everything from local sights, day trips, hiking, golf, or just sitting back enjoying the view with a wine or a book. If you are there in Winter, Northern Lights are a distinct possibility. Everything was fantastic. The hosts were extremely helpful. The property was very clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend it for a short or long stay. Durness is a beautiful little place with amazing beaches and great facilities. There is a small but very well equipped Spa supermarket that has everything you could possibly need. Smoo Cave and Balnakeil Craft Village are both close by and lovely to visit. Would strongly recommend Sango Sands Oasis bar and restaurant for a drink and takeaway fish and chips. So we really appreciate we have a little house for our stay for reasonable money. There is everything you need, also kitchen provides everything to prepare a meal. Tea, sugar, coffee are also there.
