Quite simply outstanding. I have stayed previously, many times, at the Hydro and the Grand - the Langham is by far superior in almost every category. The hotel itself is exceptionally well maintained given the age of the building itself. All of the public areas were comfortable and impeccably clean. Room #207 was wonderful - great views, windows that open, comfortable large bed [great linens], excellent recently refurbished bathroom with modern easy to use facilities and nice range of bathroom products. Excellent wi-fi throughout - well done. We enjoyed the food and the outstanding service - the F&B staff are excellent. We were lucky enough to meet the owner Neil who exemplifies the standard of his own hotel - charming, knowledgeable, thorough .... interested in his clients. The Langham has a customer for life!

Lovely town, chilled with a great vibe.

Lovely town, chilled with a great vibe. Don’t expect wild parties but if you’re after some live music and a pint you will not be disappointed- we enjoyed a band performance on a pier in the afternoon followed by Phil Collins tribute in the evening. There are also some great walking routes if that’s your thing! We will definitely be back next summer!

We loved Eastbourne and it’s a great base from which to explore the South Downs. Very scenic bus route along the coast to Brighton from right outside the hotel. The town centre is undergoing upgrades, so appearance is not as usual. I would say Eastbourne is great for older people like us but perhaps not so much for youngsters. Live music several times a week at the Bandstand for tribute acts etc.

The beach although it is a stone beach would recommend taking seats to sit on. Plenty if places to buy cold drinks and ice creams. There seemed to be a lot of road closures and diversions which took you away from the beach front. Not a lot to do with children.

I visit Eastbourne 2 or 3 times a year, normally for the International Tennis Championships and other Tennis events and sometimes for work. Eastbourne has some great restaurants. Favourites of mine are Bistrot Pierre which has fantastic views overlooking the sea and if timed right amazing sun sets can be viewed from here! Good food and drink in a friendly, welcoming environment. Others I like include Little Italy, Pomodoro E Mozzarella, Favaloso. On a day off I took the red bus trip (hop on/off) brilliant way to see Eastbourne. I got off every stop to the final destination Beachy Head. The following day I drove with a friend to East Dean where we had a nice lunch in the Tiger Inn and a visit to the little church. Would not have known about this place had I not done the bus trip! I also went to a show at the Congress Theatre! Thoroughly enjoyed!

To visit when there is the AIR Show on or Classic Car Event etc would have been better for us. To h poolave been advised of Shows being staged at the time. The Hotel swimming pool was pleasant but there were no mattresses visible to place on the hard sun beds. Maybe the occasional visit by a staff member would have gone a long way.

Friendly and helpful reception staff. All as expected. Hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade but I quite liked its 1980s vibe. Single room ok size with decent bathroom. Upper floors at rear have half decent views, over and beyond the car park. Guess you'd pay more for a sea view. Acceptable breakfast. Small charge for car park but allowed to leave car until 3pm on departure day. Good location for Eastbourne venues, shops and seafront.

The hotel is in a great position right on the seafront. Comfy room with a view over the sea. An old-fashioned-style hotel built in 1880 reminded me of something from a period drama. Lots of Northern OAPs were on holiday here. Fab breakfast was well worth the extra fiver. Will stay here again when in the area.
