We had a brilliant short stay in Ravensworth. The accommodation was ideal, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, and spacious bedroom. We appreciated the tea, coffee and sweet treats on arrival. Located in the heart of the village, Thimble Cottage is an ideal base for local walks. The village pub is only a short distance away and offers a fabulous choice of tasty dishes.

The lodge was excellent, it exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of space and it was immaculately clean. Everything worked perfectly and it was very cosy. We had all the amenities we needed and the owners were very polite and welcoming. Can't speak highly enough of our experience and we are looking forward to going back in the future.

The cabin was cosy, clean and beautiful; it's clear to see the love that has gone into it. The host called us in the morning to ask if we wanted the hot tub hot upon arrival, a lovely extra welcome from them. They greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the property, with things we needed to know and recommendations for the local area. It is situated on a quiet working farm surrounded by beautiful countryside and not too far from small towns and eateries. Overall a perfect place to stay and would happily book again!

    The village pub is closed on Tuesday's however there is a shop adjacent to the pub whereby you can get most supplies (alcohols and the likes) to spend the evening in the accommodation. There is also a fish and chip shop which again was closed however details of opening times are displayed for all to see. Gainford is a small but pleasant village between Barnard Castle and Darlington.
