Our overnight stay at the Queens Arms was absolutely brilliant. From the moment we walked in the door it did not disappointment. A real gem of a find. Highly recommend. The Indian restaurant upstairs was an added bonus ... the food was absolutely delicious.

The location was fantastic in the heart of Old Glossop, which is really beautiful, and with access to beautiful countryside to walk or trail run. Room was comfortable and clean. Had a good nights sleep. The Bull, Queens Arms and Distant Hills Brewery plus Shepleys Cafe meant there were lots of very local eating options. I had a great short break.

This was a very, very last minute booking and the hosts went out of their way to help us and accommodate us. Nothing was too much trouble. The house is very well equipped and was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It is on the edge of the Peak District national park and has great access to Glossop town. The hosts were very friendly and very responsive to our questions. The house was ideal for our party size of 6 adults.

Loved the Christmas decorations (it saved me getting the ones were had brought out of the car). The milk and goodies were also a nice touch. On a very cold and frosty afternoon in the dark it was great to walk into a warm welcoming house. The Wifi was also good (there isn't much of a phone signal in the valley there).

Greeted with a smile the second we walked in by 4 very attentive and knowledgeable members of staff behind the bar. Lovely, cozy atmosphere. Big, clean rooms and great size bathroom with full bath. We had dinner as well and the portion sizes were great with some good deals on the main courses. The food was lovely, steak cooked perfectly. We can’t believe how nice our stay was for such a good price!!

We were cycling the trans pennine trail, and this stop over was perfect. No evening meals the night we were there but we were OK to order in a takeaway (plates were also provided and washed up for us!) Breakfast was lovely (we had full English and Eggs Royale and cereal, fruit and pastries also included). Bikes were secure in the locked (and cctv covered) bar area, no problem that they, and us, were dripping wet! Didn't see a lot of the area as it was dark when we arrived, but the surrounding countryside and hills were beautiful the next day

The locations was great. Just at two entrances of the Peak District, one of them being the scenic Snake Pass. The place was very clean and the rooms very comfortable. It also included breakfast and the host was very kind and helpful.

    The bungalow was ideally located . Appreciated that basics were provided such as salt, Pepper and oil . Good selection of pots and pans . It was very clean and well presented. Hoping to book again in August . Definitely would recommend as value for money .

    Glossop is a fabulous market town, with great walking in the dark peak close by. Culturally it is developing its offer with galleries, restaurants and events. It has close access links, with Manchester a 30min train ride away.

    Beautiful countryside walks lots of dog friendly pubs. Local taxi company Padtax were amazing and if you let them know you have a little dog on booking and give them notice they will do everything to accommodate the request and are very reasonably priced x

    Stay in Old Glossop vs Glossop proper.

    Stay in Old Glossop vs Glossop proper. The whole area, however, very scenic. manor Park nice for a walk, especially on a hot day. Aircraftwreck Superfortress ‘Overexposed’ is 4 mile walk uphill but worth a visit. Go,to the Queens Head for a Traditional English Meal vs The Bulls Head for tapas.

    Pub is in Old Glossop, 10 - 15 mins. walk from Glossop town centre. Old Glossop very quaint in an interesting way. Two other pubs and a lovely park 2 mins. walk from the Queens. Country walks also right on doorstep. Glossop itself a pleasant town with all the amenities one could reasonably require available. Regular trains from Manchester Piccadilly with a half hour journey time.

    The Norfolk Arms has recently been renovated so the rooms are new, clean and modern. The staff make the place; super friendly and go out of their way to help you. The food (pub) is very good and tasty, breakfast was superb. Easy to get to from the train and close to the town centre. Great for a nice break.

    Nice, well appointed apartment in the centre of Glossop. Easy to access and comfortable. Considering the location, nice and quiet - even with a pub directly across the road. Being able to go to the cafe downstairs is also very convenient, as is having the M&S Food shop just a minute away.
