Beautiful location, welcome hamper on arrival and friendly host met us upon arrival and gave us a walkthrough of the house and grounds. The rooms were clean and spacious with fresh towels and toiletries supplied. We had a group of 24 and we wanted for nothing as everything you needed was supplied and we cooked several meals with ease. The hot tub was lovely and hot and ready to use.

Very pretty and spacious cottage with a lovely, private garden. Very well equipped, didn't feel anything had been left out. Appreciated the Welcome Basket with milk, bread, etc. Very useful bus routes within a couple of minutes from property for visiting Lewes, Eastbourne, Bexhill.

The Alfriston Hotel is by far the best we’ve experienced. The style is elegant, the staff incredibly welcoming, and the room was spotless and beautifully designed. We loved the peaceful spa and the delicious breakfast every morning. Everything was just perfect – we felt truly cared for. The village of Alfriston itself is charming and full of character – the perfect setting for a relaxing escape. We will definitely be coming back!

Our pod was so cute, warm & welcoming for our w.e break! It had everything we needed & the beds & bedding were so snug! We also had our own immaculate bathroom a short stroll away. The site and utilities are very well organised. Tim, the owner was very friendly and hospitable. Lynda, the campsite manager was equally lovely.     We only had a short stay there as we were visiting the Observatory for a special event. There was a very friendly pub in Hailsham called the Grenadier, friendly locals and good beer. We didn't try the food as we'd already eaten.

    There are many exquisite towns in Sussex with beautiful historic centres. Hailsham is not one of them. It has two ugly modern shopping centres and the town feels rather neglected. I can't see any reason for a casual traveller in the area to visit it.

    Didnt really go into Hailsham but daughter did - she was very happy to the facilities in the area - big Tesco - cafes and several restaurants and pubs. We went to the ~Plough for dinner which was a recommendation in the guest book - excellent food and friendly service. Great location or visiting Brighton 25 miles away and Eastbourne 10 miles away.

    Hailsham is ok but we were there to visit family. We like Hilliers Garden Centre, which is nearby, for lunch and shopping. Also close to Eastbourne. We like Birling Gap, which is a NT, 20 minutes drive away.

    Hailsham is small but has quite a few independent shops (as well as 3 supermarkets)and nice cafes (AJs does a wide range of coffees and smoothies) and a very good Indian restaurant in the High Street. It is the perfect place to stay for getting to places of interest. Drusillas zoo is a 10 minute drive away. Alfriston village which is the oldest village in Sussex is 15 minutes by car. From here you can do beautiful walks on the South Downs Way or walk along the stream (national trust trail) from behind the Clergy House. Hailsham is cheap to stay in and use as a base for visiting the many local places of interest.

    The hotel was easily found, and being in the centre of the town any shops needed were very close. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and well presented, it was of a good size. The evening meal menu was of fairly standard pub fare which suited us well, and was very well prepared from wood quality components. Breakfast was also very good. The hotel had a busy bar which appeared to be popular with the locals. The rooms were well away from the bar so were very quiet.

    This accommodation was beautifully renovated and very clean in a nice quiet area close to Hailsham. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The gardens and main house were lovely and very well kept as well. We are looking forward to using this again. Thank you so much.
