The hotel is great, with great style and super clean. I like the traditional design a lot. There is a new area to walk around with very traditional cottages, with Christmas decorations all was very beautiful. I have made a 10 minute walk to the main street where there are many shops and restaurants. Also the hotel is not far from airport and for me it was very convenient as I have an early morning flight back.

Liked the spacious bedroom didn't like the mess the kitchen had been left in. However got a Thankyou for tidying it up as the couple were preparing for a move end feb beginning March. Will no longer be adversitising this as house had already been sold.

Basic hygiene standards were not met.

Basic hygiene standards were not met. Pubic hairs in and around bathroom. Food or bodily fluids smeared on walls. The lack of security on our door made us feel unsafe as we could hear people roaming the corridors. We ended up putting a table against the door and wall for extra security. This left us with no other choice but to move to a hotel the next day as we felt so uncomfortable, the whole experience was awful. Would not recommend this!

The Duke of York is a lovely place to stay.

The Duke of York is a lovely place to stay. The new owner is a nice man who made us feel very welcome. The room was very comfortable and clean. The only drawback with any room at the front is noise from the main road outside. The bar area was warm and welcoming, with really nice beer at good prices. We would definitely stay there again, but probably ask for an option of a room at the rear.

    Room was great. Very comfortable.

Room was great. Very comfortable. Would have liked breakfast to be available, but I knew it wasn't when booked, therefore not a disappointment of the booking,as there is a place nearby that provides the service. I loved the kettle/tea/coffee in the room. Cleaning staff was polite and respectful. Bar/reception staff were polite/informative and welcoming. Would stay again.
