Everything was incredible! We booked a room 45min before arriving and had a warm, friendly welcome and the most stunning room waiting for us. We were exhausted and the room felt like a slice of luxury: fluffy towels, bath robes, enough hooks for jackets, a mini fridge with enough milk for tea (not those tiny tubs!), a cupcake snack and charger points on both sides of the bed. We had drinks in their gorgeous bar where we relaxed with house ale and a selection of fun board games. And when we joined the breakfast room, we indulged in croissants, berries and granola and perfectly poached eggs. Absolutely awesome. Absolutely will stay there again.

It’s the owners of Bluebell that make it special, the room we had in the little courtyard was small but had everything you could wish for and very clean. Helpston and the surrounding villages are fabulous very little traffic. The purpose of our visit was to visit Burghley House for a picnic in the park, this was also fabulous free to enter and that is very rare these days, you obviously have to pay too visit the House and into the Gardens but we had a wonderful visit highly recommend both Bluebell inn and Burghley House

Helpston is a fairly large village with a close association with poet John Clare. The Bluebell is the only pub/restaurant in the village but is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike, this is probably due to the efforts made by the family who run it. The food is of a very high standard and seemed to always be freshly cooked. An excellent atmosphere in the bar was experienced every time we had a drink. Can't recommend a visit to the Bluebell enough.

This was a stop-over half way along our journey.

This was a stop-over half way along our journey. The staff were friendly and accommodated our late arrival. The room although small offered hot drinks, water and a piece of cake each upon our arrival which we thought was a lovely touch. We had a drink in the bar on the evening of our arrival and left in the morning after a lovely breakfast. Thanks to all for their hospitality.

Check in wasn’t till 5pm and we arrive at 4pm.

Check in wasn’t till 5pm and we arrive at 4pm. The Bluebell was in darkness and looked grim, we almost left but fortunately we didn’t because the inside was much nicer than the exterior. It was very warm and cosy and very friendly staff. We had dinner which was very good, and breakfast the following morning, just as good if not better. Helps ton is a nice village with nothing to do except visit the Bluebell! Having said that we would probably stay there again if in the area.
