I should have known from the price that it would not be to...
I should have known from the price that it would not be to the standard I expected. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size but the bathroom was small and a bit dated. Set in extensive grounds. We decided to eat there and were delighted to find that they offered a normal menu as well as an Indian menu. My wife is a vegitarian and likes Indian food but was disappointed in dishes available for her. Her pompadoms were served after her main and she left them. I had a steak but the chips were very over cooked. The waitress gave me a free glass of wine to compensate. Breakfast was not nice. We throughly enjoyed our stay in Hook, we stayed at Warbrook House (a stunning yet affordable heritage hotel) where we spent the afternoon exploring the grounds and ate at the restaurant which was very pleasant. The next day we went to West Green House Gardens which was absolutely delightful! We didn’t want to leave. We spent our final evening in the ‘Tally Ho’ for dinner which was delicious with great service too. We will definitely return for another trip as there were many beautiful areas and walking routes which we didn’t get round to exploring.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

We felt like we were staying with newly found friends in their home and we had got the best bedroom. It started with a very warm welcome and we liked it so much we have already planned our return visit. Loved seeing a very impressive painting actually being painted whilst we watched. If you want a relaxed, comfortable and friendly stay in a country house style hotel, stay here.
