Ilfracombe was lovely for a short family trip. It has landmarks to visit, walks to go on, arcades, beaches, a strip of shops, restaurants parks, souvenirs and ice creams. The people she came across were friendly and the place seemed clean. A short drive away from a steam train, a big sandy beach and an amusement park/castle. Lots to do to keep the kids entertained. On arrival we walked into the town centre. As with a lot of coastal towns, it looked a little run town. Once you get to the harbour, things change. When the weather is lovely, Ilfracombe is great, although it’s sad to see how rundown it has become. it’s also sad to see so many properties empty and so many shops, That only seem to open for a few days a week. Down the harbour far to menu dogs fouling the pavements and the irresponsible owners are not bothered just leaving the mess on the footpath and walking away DISGUSTING.
