This hotel is beautiful and nicely positioned overlooking Windermere. The lounge, terrasse and dining room are all well appointed and elegant. The meals are good and the breakfast was particularly delicious. The staff are all friendly and helpful, taking time to assist with whatever you need to know. Our bedroom, although slightly smaller than I expected, was comfortable, clean and had a lovely view.

The lady owner who showed us around was quite rude, and very stand-offish - Very abrupt and head mistress like. Which wasn't the best welcome to be honest. There was also no cooking appliances (a microwave would of been a very welcome addition). All the storage cupboards and drawers were also locked, because the owners were storing their own belongings in there! Which left us very little storage space for our own belongings, clothes, etc. Parking was also an issue, as the parking spaces aren't allocated, therefore anyone can park wherever they like - including the campers on the camp site! The property is up a very steep hill, so walking up and down the hill is not feasible for people like myself with disabilities. The WiFi was terrible too, it kept kicking us out every half an hour, which also effected the tv channels. And to top the whole experience off the patio had an active hornets / wasps nest the size of a football attached to the guttering - just above the french doors - above our heads as we walked outside (Please see images attached). This is totally unacceptable! On informing the owners about this, we were simply told they hadn't noticed it! So all in all the rental was definitely NOT worth the money we paid, and we would definitely NOT return, nor would we recommend.
