It was all lovely, from the cream tea so beautifully presented with a teaset, and the ample supply of tea and coffee, to the lovely homely touches and decorations throughout. We didn't have children but the second bedroom would be a very welcoming one for them. The apartment is spacious, peaceful, well furnished and loved and very well equipped with everything you could need. It has beautiful views to Instow and beyond, although the weather wasn't so accommodating in that respect. Would highly recommend. Thank you Clare 💗

We had a perfect stay from check in. We were welcomed by Nicky and shown to our lovely accommodation. The rooms in the lodge building were spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern with a very powerful shower. Our evening meals and breakfast cooked by John were exceptional. The hotel is in a quiet location with countryside views and has plenty of free onsite parking.

    Easy to walk around with amazing views of the beach and estuary. Choice of 3 pubs within easy walking distance of the Commodore hotel. Great local news agents and delicatessen called John's- nothing was too much trouble when ordering papers to pick up the following day. Recommend to stay here if taking a trip to Lundy Island from Bideford Quay- easy 5 minute drive.

    Instow is small, clean town with a range of excellent facilities for its size. A great beach, a fabulous restaurant, the Boatyard, excellent hostelries and a wonderful deli, cafe and shop at Johns. A lot available in a small place - there are also plenty of coastal walks and views to enjoy.

    Sun shone in September which helped. Dog friendly beach which we loved, others may not. Ice cream van on beach. Super cafe/shop and restaurants just off the beach. Handy for Bideford & Appledore both worth a visit.

    Lovely village close to the sea and right in the heart of North Devon. It has an amazing deli and some excellent pubs and seafood restaurants. They also run a ferry across the river to the lovely village of Appledore

    Instow is a lovely undiscovered gem, with a beautiful beach, lots to do and see nearby, plenty of accommodation, excellent for cycling and walking holiday, lots of good eating especially seafood dishes

    Instow is exceptionally dog friendly.

    Instow is exceptionally dog friendly. We have German Shepherds and as anyone who owns them realises how much breed prejudice there is against them - not in Instow! They were accepted wholeheartedy. It was wonderful and refreshing
