The views from Inverary are exceptional.
The views from Inverary are exceptional. The residents of the town are very friendly If you want to unwind, slow down your pace of life, find real peace and relaxation then Inverary would be an excellent choice to visit. We ate an evening meal from the local fish and chip restuarant and sat looking down the loch enjoying it. Walking around Inverary is easy . Inveraray Jail, was amazing to see what jail life was like n the 1600s Very first item we saw was a man who stole 2 horses, and a cheese he was hung for his crime, couldn't stop thinking about it all day.. Really need to see it for yourself to understand how bad life was back then. Inveraray Castle was beautiful and so interesting, had a lovely tea outside before looking round the gardens and walking through the grounds. A pleasant small town with a beautiful outlook over Loch Fyne. The consistent white facade of buildings added to the aesthetic appeal. The tour de force is the castle. This has a very interesting interior with weapons displays, everything is well kept. Really enjoyed our stay in Inveraray .It is a great place to walk around and the views are super .A nice historic wee town .Its very dog friendly too which was important for us .The Inveraray Inn hotel where we were staying is brilliant and the food was superb .We will definitely be back .Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

As it is off season I get not everywhere is open, but being a holiday weekend in Glasgow I thought more might have been. The overall feel of the place is pleasant if you ignore the east wind. The jail was great and the main reason for our visit, the staff there are very helpful and pleasant. The cafe we had lunch was great with homemade soup and scones! Some of the shops offer great choice of gifts and are welcoming. On an easy to get to route of the A83, but this has the downside of heaven lorries frequently.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom

Our room was clean, large and warm with comfortable bed and our stay included a full cooked breakfast which was delicious. We ate dinner at the George and could not fault the meal - salmon, mussels, clams in a spicy seafood broth with book chop and a platter of trout pate, caper berries, salmon, prawns, scallops.
