There are somehow literally no museums or libraries open on...
There are somehow literally no museums or libraries open on Mondays or tuesdays, which were the days I was stuck there as a travel layover. So I got stuck literally just sitting in a park in the rain twice for several hours waiting to check in to my hotel, as there was nothing else to do since I didn’t need anything from any stores or restaurants and no other indoor spaces or activities were open within an hour and a half of the city centre by public transit. There are also only two small, museums available even on other days. Inverness might actually have the worst museum ratio Ive encountered in the British isles. So many wonderful things to see and do within an easy driving distance from Inverness. This is the place to stay to explore the highlands. We enjoyed having the advantage of being in a city with all it offers including an airport to fly in and out, History is all around you from stone age to castles. The countryside is beautiful.
