It is the sweetest accommodation I've ever been in. Everything is made to the latest detail in very nice way. I don´t have enough words to describe it... You have to experience it :) Also the area is beautiful (the cliffs, walks around the little city, sheeps and also rabbits around...). I would definitely recommend to stay longer than one night. And be sure to visit the farm and little shop full of handmade things. I´m in love with this place and hopefully will come back one day :)

The facilities were excellent. Being able to make a steak dinner and eat it looking out at the sea was just perfect. The bedrooms were comfortable and roomy - beds were great. Overall, it was just perfect. The host (manager?), Jan, was friendly and super helpful.

We loved our brief stay at Burnside cottage. Close to the ferry at Gills Bay for the next morning. Kacey was so welcoming & the food amongst the best we sampled throughout our stay in Scotland! Even when my daughter left her favourite toy behind, Kacey posted it on to us! Thoughtful & great customer service.

We were there the end of April and basically nothing was open yet. Our only dinner choice was a fish and chips food truck that stopped taking orders at 18,30. The cafe that serves coffee and food didnt open till 10,00, so if you need to leave before then keep it in mind. Other than that, it is a beautiful location, just from the pier we saw many seals and otters. The trip to the lighthouse and walk from there to the stacks was incredible, we saw a few puffins nesting in the cliffs. I wish we had had more time to explore the area and beaches.

We liked how we were upgraded to a sea view apartment.

We liked how we were upgraded to a sea view apartment. The blue toft was lovely and clean with all the modern conveniences and nice and warm. Close by was Gills Bay where we took a car ferry over to the Orkney Islands. Coastal walk was very picturesque with plenty of photo opportunities, The souvenir shops were great, and people were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at John O Groats and would recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely amazing place. Beautiful view from the window to the sea. The surroundings are very quiet and perfect for a walk in nature. There is a small pub near the hotel with good beer and whiskey. Recommend staying more than one night. It's a shame that the apartment doesn't have a balcony, because breakfast on the balcony at sunrise and the sound of the sea would be absolute perfection. We visited this place in early October and the weather was perfect.

The accommodation met all expectations prior to booking. The room booked had typical British charm. The hostess was extremely accommodating and super friendly. The surrounding ambiance, the farm, is also an attraction and a welcome change from the usual touristic hotel monotony. Initial concerns about the bathroom, which has to be shared with other guests, proved to be unfounded. It was no problem at all. A lovely stay that certainly deserves an extension.
