Breakfast was excellent. Artisan bread for toast. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Evening meal menu had nice choices for sensible prices. They handled being very busy well. Decor clean and nice. Good layout. Ten minutes from Builth. A very warm welcome.

From arrival Lynda and Larnie were wonderful hosts. The B&B is spotless and run on alot of hard work and love of making guests feel cared for during their stay. We booked 3 rooms for our family stay and they had everything one would expect, and more. The breakfast options were vast and catered for all dietary requirements. Our 2 vegan breakfasts were immense, piping hot and homemade bread which set us all up for the day.

This is a spectacular place! Just renovated with luxury touches. The bed was very comfortable and the entire place is very clean. The full kitchen and dining area was well equipped and there are plenty of places to relax and enjoy. All the rooms were booked during my stay, and I never heard any of the other guests. The bathroom is shared but there are two toilets, one separate from the main bathroom allowing for access if the main bathroom was in use. The main bathroom is very spacious and has a great modern shower and wonderful tub. Don't worry about forgetting something at home - it is very well stocked with anything you might need. It was a close walk to the Lake and is located right in the center of town. Definitely will be staying here when I visit next time.

We had a reason for visiting Llandrindod Wells - the...

We had a reason for visiting Llandrindod Wells - the Victorian Festival which, though is is on a much smaller scale than it used to be and mainly cut back (due to lack of funding from the County Council and other sources) to ticketed events, is still a fun week, with a selection of dances and themed events. However, the town itself is quite a disappointment these days. I used to come to town for the Victorian Festival in the 1990s, but also used to visit for work occasionally, so I saw it both in full 'festival' mode and as it is at other times of year. The most noticeable thing is how few shops are actually still shops! Many are empty. It is good to see that the excellent health food shop, Vans, is still there on Middleton Street, and also the craft shop (for supplies), Bon Marche, and the bookshop. But compared with 20 - 25 years ago, there are few shops. The Rock Park spa gardens are still lovely to explore, and (although we didn't get up to the lakeside) we heard that the Lakeside has been much improved over the last few years. The Cycle Museum is definitely worth a visit if you are a cycling enthusiast or have even a passing interest in the history of cycling - it is a treasure trove of cycles and cycling memorabilia. On the plus side, there are far more bars and cafes in the town centre than I remember from my earlier visits, so more choice there. We will be coming back - because for us it is a meeting point with friends. Otherwise perhaps a good place for an overnight stay while touring Wales.

Disappointed to find the town deserted 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon in July. Only things open were a couple of charity shops. Felt like a ghost town to be honest. Sad as was here 30 years ago same time of year, and the town was alive and kicking

We chose Llandrindod Wells for personal reasons.

We chose Llandrindod Wells for personal reasons. My wife and I had a number of friends there that we had not seen for some time. So the weather and time of the year did not matter. After the terrible weather in the UK the previous weeks we were amazed and delighted to find the sun shining down on us each day we were there! A stroll around the stunning lake, and don't forget the café (but go before 11.00 am to get a good seat overlooking the lake). Meals at the Metropole Hotel (4 stars): booking is simplicity and every meal we had there was wonderful. And take some drives to Rhyader, Elan Valley, Three Cocks Garden Centre, Brecon Beacons National Park Visitors' Centre for wonderful food and and stunning views.

Cute little wagon, perfect for us as a couple to use for a base. Peaceful, quiet location. We wanted to do two hikes in wales and this was in between both so great location for our plans. Hosts were amazing, even allowed us to use the hot tub in another wagon as it was unoccupied one night which was very welcome after a 5 hour hike! Dog friendly, need to be kept on lead as lots of animals near by.
