The town centre is lively and vibrant during the day, with an excellent market and plenty of shops. There are lots of good cafes, pubs and restaurants, though check times of evening food service as they can finish a bit earlier than in some places. The main attraction of Ludlow for us are the Georgian houses, Tudor shop fronts and ancient cottages so we spent quite a lot of time wandering around the streets, admiring them. There are pubs for a drink in the evening, but the streets were very quiet after 9pm, with no rowdiness or noise. Just perfect!Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Historic border town with links between England and Wales.
Historic border town with links between England and Wales. Castle overlooking River Teme where there are easy walks and facilities. Town market is on most days selling crafts. Good for souvenirs and gifts. Lots of shopping in medieval streets around square. Church worth a visit and also has a good cafe. Very scenic countryside and close to beautiful Wye Valley route. Long Mynd range of spectacular hills close by at Church Stretton - National Trust car park. Good for climbing and picnics. Loved the town....it has so much character going for it....
Loved the town....it has so much character going for it....so much variety too and quaint in many ways. We are not really townsfolk but prefer walkin but because of my wifes problem with her ankle which just flared up before this trip which was to celebrate her birthday we were restricted in the distance we could cover and longer walks which we had planned are out of the question. There is only a short walk to Ludlow Castle and the town centre. The hotel was clean and comfortable and staff members were friendly and helpful.
