I loved all the common areas of this hotel, the lounge, the 2nd lounge /drawing room. So atmospheric and perfect for catching up with reading and writing letters, postcards etc. Staff were lovely and as enamored of the buildings history and heritage as we were. It was a very very restful place for us to stay after what was quite a challenging time (funeral)

I absolutely adored this place! I, unlike most, traveled without a car and it was just as easy to get to which was surprising. The vibe of the place is chill and everyone I met was super friendly. The room itself was gorgeous and comfortable, I felt so at home. Breakfast was 10/10. Bus stop and shops just a couple minutes walk and ponies not much further.

Lyndhurst is well known for traffic problems, if you can accept this it has a wide range of cafes and restaurants and is a good base for exploring the New Forest. with good access to bus and train services if you don't want to drive.

Lovely pubs and excellent cafes for breakfast.

Lovely pubs and excellent cafes for breakfast. The road running through the village is exceptionally busy at times, with cars and some lorries as it is an A road. Small pavements and difficult to navigate when busy. The forest is over the road and easily accessible. This area might be too busy for those wanting peace and quiet. It’s a good base to explore from though. A very friendly place, lovely locals.

Where we stayed was a short walk from the town and so we went at least for a couple of walks a day morning afternoon evening there was always plenty to see and do and it was a nice way to get some exercise. And also being in Lyndhurst we were only a short way from the actual forest with the horses and beautiful scenery. Also if you carried on going out of Lyndhurst you can go into Brockenhurst and go to Lymington which we did and walk all around the harbour have a snack or lunch ect there and walk the whole really nice town You could purchase food n drinks ect which we did

Lyndhurst has a good selection of bars and restaurants with live music in a few places on friday nights. Everything is within walking distance and there are lovely country walks in all directions from the centre. Must try the local fish n chips and really all the bars and restaurants - all good quality food served with a smile. Also, if you or a loved one feel like a treat, there is a Ferrari dealership there too

The hotel itself is a beautiful building in lovely grounds. Our room overlooked the carpark on the top floor but was spacious, airy and comfortable. The breakfast offered a good selection of fruit, pastries and a traditional English option and the conservatory where we ate overlooked the pretty garden. The location was perfect for exploring the New Forest and just a few minutes away from the pretty town of Lyndhurst and the motorway. All in all a pleasant stay, other than the minor issues mentioned below and we would most likely return.

The hotel is on the main road into Lyndhurst. Easily accessible and good parking. The room was on the front but was quiet. The room was small but enough for my needs. Was clean and tidy and well presented. (needs some new toggles on the light pulls....). The staff were very polite and chatty. Breakfast was tasty and just enough to kick off the day.
