Charming complex. Great pub next door that allowed dogs. We had delicious fish & chips and a red Spanish wine...very welcoming after our 12 hour drive from Saintes, France.

Lovely quiet, clean, isolated retreat at a country club with a fridge and free parking. Breakfast was included and the dinner menu was very good with reasonable prices. We had dinner there 3 nights in a row. Close to Sissinghurst, Leeds, Maidstone and Rye - it was a nice place to stay for a few days. The staff was great!

Beautiful setting and building Friendly welcoming staff I received a free upgrade which meant I got to stay in the main house. I saw a cosy lounge area for afternoon tea. Beautiful grand staircase. Festive decorations made it really warm and cosy. Attended a party in the stable area. Perfect for a sit down meal for around 60 people. Food was fantastic and hot. Service was excellent Late checkout is 11am which leaves time to enjoy the breakfast from a menu. Not by buffet style. Highly recommend.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Not cheap but very unclean & poor standards. No air con. Just a desk fan. Room far too hot. Awful pillows. Asked for extra but didn't get them. Tea & coffee not replenished. Definitely not worth the money!

I have made several trips to the Great Danes Hotel.

I have made several trips to the Great Danes Hotel. There have been some improvements to some bedrooms ie the carpets and bedroom fittings, (Floor 1 )but it is obvious that there is a way to go, as some rooms look dated and in need of refurbishment. (my room floor 2) as well as the reception and restaurant area. Some outside areas to the fabric of the hotel also needed repairs. eg rear rainwater downpipe missing and concrete steps to meeting room needed attention) As I am the owner of several holiday properties my eye is more critical than most, but the intention of my suggestions is to help build on positive visitor experience.

The staff greeted us warmly and there was even free mulled wine at reception. The room was a good size with a nice view over the courtyard. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with good choices. We asked for poached eggs to go with the buffet cooked breakfast and they were cooked perfectly. The hotel is very close to Leeds Castle and only 20 minutes form Maidstone Town Centre and there is ample parking.

I booked this hotel as I was attending a friend's wedding in Maidstone. What can I say....great value for money! Was a very clean and cosy room. Fast WiFi/Smart TV and a comfortable bed. Shower was perfect and I was able to use an iron for my shirt. Had plenty of tea and coffee to keep me going too. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

Beautiful house, rooms are LARGE; owner and his wife are really very helpful, assisting with every request. The hotel was even better (and nicer) than it looks on the photo's. Great place to stay! And, if you plan to visit London: Maidstone East station to Victoria station is less than an hour.. ;)
