This hotel is by far one of the most beautiful hotel rooms we have stayed in. I felt like I was in The Hamptons. The attention to detail is amazing, the decor was stunning, the bed was insanely comfy and it was spotless. The free sweet treats on level two, what an amazing idea!

Simon was a great host. He was very friendly and welcoming, and very informative about the area with great tips on restaurants. He immediately came to greet us on arrival. The apartment was really nice with exceptional views. Simon provided us with croissants, cereals, milk etc for breakfast which was a real bonus.

We come every year Not a shopping place if wanting big name stores . The town is small and easy to access. Lovely main sands and small bit of beach near the flat was nice and tidal pool easy to access We ate at mechanical elephant and Peter fish and chips. Margatevis easy to access 8 had no young children but we have accessed the escape rooms shell grotto chalk caves and Walpole Bay hotel for cream teas . We were able to get a none bus to Canterbury from right outside the flat .

I had heard it was up-and-coming.

I had heard it was up-and-coming. With money spent on it it could be a beautiful Victorian seaside resort. The Old Town was interesting and with lovely shops and eateries. We loved the coastline. Great Viking walking trail. The Turner Contemporary was lovely. The Opex Gardens were excellent - with a garden centre and many activities for families. Some nice surrounding places to visit were Deal and Walmer, Sandwich and Canterbury. I believe Minnis Bay coast is very attractive. There was an interesting Nature park near Birchington.

Margate is abit rundown in places but the old town was great and restaurants we enjoyed especially GB Pizza co it was on the seafront and we could sit outside in the evening. Dreamland is getting better there are alot of rides there especially for kids. A good traditional seaside town and lots of things to do in easy walking distance. The beach is great.

Margate is a very tatty and tacky seaside town.

Margate is a very tatty and tacky seaside town. Its centre by the pleasant sandy beach is an eyesore of casinos and abandoned buildings. Judging by the number of police cars on a Friday night it must have more than its fair share of crime. The Turner museum was a disappointment, having only a single Turner painting along with some modern art that was underwhelming. Clearly its heyday was 200 years ago as it is now utterly charmless.

Margate is a great place to visit particularly when the sun shines. There is a range of offerings in terms of hotels, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes as well as places of interest to visit. Like most seaside towns is has suffered from a lack of investment in recent years which is evident in some areas of the town.

Friendly vibe, lots of interesting places to visit and eat at. Visit the Crab museum and the Turner Contemporary gallery- both are free for a donation. Sit and watch the sunsets with a drink. Don't forget to swim in the free seawater Lido.

Great location, just a 2min walk from the Westbrook Bay beach and then about a 10min walk to Margate's Main Sands beach (which is a very lovely walk indeed!). Cosy, clean house and welcoming environment. The host, Jim, was very friendly and nice to chat to; he was also nice enough to upgrade me to a larger private cabin that was available at the time, which I really appreciated. Breakfast was tasty and I thought the dining room was cosy with a TV and overlooking the garden. Comfortable mattress. Overall, great value!

We stayed at the Walpole Bay whilst attending a wedding at the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery. Hotel well situated near the seafront and for those keen on bathing just next to the seawater lido (which is a worth while experience). The hotel management and staff are very friendly. Nice to sit out at the front and have a cup of tea or something stronger. Breakfast is very good and definitely worth a visit to the 2nd floor to see the 'museum'.

Spacious and tastefully decorated apartment with a well equipped kitchen. Margate Main Sands is a 10 min walk and there is a Tesco just round the corner. Check-in and check-out were easy thanks to the detailed information the host provided. We did enjoy our stay! Ideal for families with children.
