Perfect night away! we had such a gorgeous time, I would 100% come back and recommend it to others, it was pristine, the bed was so comfortable with pillows to die for, the hot tub with the view was absolute bliss, we had the pizza pack & was well worth it the pizza oven was lovley add on Location was ideal, nothing is too far away, The information booklet provided had everything we needed and more in very good detail Even the little details dressing gown, slippers, games, the products in the shower, aircon, list goes on 👌🏼

    Northallerton was 38 minutes from where we live. Quick train journey, giving you more time on your break. Saturday Market was lovely. Hot weather was a bonus, lots of lovely people. Lots of charity shops. Pubs were great for drink & food. Love our time in Northallerton. Would definitely go again.

    Northallerton is between the Yorkshire Dales and North York...

    Northallerton is between the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks and is an ideal place from which to explore their beautiful scenery. The town itself has all the usual chain shops and supermarkets, but it also has independent shops such as Lewis and Cooper's delicatessen and Barker's department store. There is also an excellent market on the Main Street on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

    Room very comfortable and staff helpful Shame the food was of a poor standard. Breakfast eggs dry because they were reheated Dinner. Chips were uneven in cooking. Reheated. Scampi was soggy and mushy inside the breadcrumbs. Mushy peas were nice.

    Saturday is market day,with a lovely selection of stalls.

    Saturday is market day,with a lovely selection of stalls. From clothes, food, footwear accessories to fruit and vegetables. People are friendly. Baskets is a lovely department store with 3 different eating places. The main restaurant there serves hot meals, snacks and lovely cakes.

    Katch was formerly the Black Bull Inn.

    Katch was formerly the Black Bull Inn. I really enjoyed staying in a historic building right in the heart of Northallerton. The double room was spacious and comfortable, with a view over the High Street. Staff were very helpful.

    Katch doesn’t offer breakfast, but plenty of places in the town do, including sister hotel 100 yards away. .The room was good, no room for chairs to watch tv but plenty of room around the bed. Curtains didn’t stop light. In our room which was above the bar. It was noisy but there were new earplugs provided on the bedside table. There were other rooms available up further stairs but I am not very mobile. Bed comfy, glasses and cups/provided. Really good pub type food in huge bar area or restaurant.

    The hotel is well located for visiting the town centre. The staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and very accommodating to our requests. The room we stayed in was very comfortable. A hearty breakfast was included in the tariff. You couldn’t fault anything. I really cannot understand the negative reviews of previous guests, they are not warranted for such a lovely hotel. We will definitely use this hotel again in the future for our stopover en route to Scotland.

    Excellent stay at the legendary Porch House in Northallerton town. Lovely hosts very eager to please, lots of fresh fruit in the room, comfy bed and an excellent Yorkshire cooked breakfast to start our next day's travelling. Very good value for the standard of accommodation on offer. We had an enjoyable evening meal in the Golden Lion hotel about 10 mins walk down the main street, nothing fancy but attentive service and a well-cooked plate at honest prices.
